I do find the gym intimidating, especially people who are massive and workout topless, kinda makes me sad and embarassed too about my twiglet body and that i cant be big and strong!

You've nothing to worry about on this score. I think everyone in the Gym feels like this. If you're skinny, you're jealous of the muscle dudes. If you're a fat cunt like me, you're jealous of the skinny bastards. If you're a meathead, you're jealous of the bigger meathead. I'm not overly confident but just think, fuck it. I'm here for my own self improvement not a pissing contest with that fucker who looks like Zack Morris if Zack Morris was 6 inches taller, tanned and a professional Rugby League player.

Creatine for me i have always found hard to digest, if you take that i would drink plenty of Water. Powdered protein can also be a bit dodgy on the stomach to. The gym i go to sell some really nice protein bars and some yoghurt based protein shakes which have never affected my gut or made me nearly shite myself like protein powders.

Any takers on this apart from eating rancid tuna?

It's all about will power and what you can do to distract yourself from eating. How to lose weight is easy, doing it is hard.

Like Rick says, cut your calories right down, avoid carbs if you can and weight will drop off. It's easier said than done though.

A couple of supplements won't do any harm either. Raspberry ketones are supposed to help with metabolism, and you can get supplements that help suppress appetite and boost energy with caffeine pretty easily. There's loads of supplements out there to dabble with, I'd recommend taking a look at "EPH 30+" which you can get cheaply enough on Ebay.

I weigh myself pretty much every day, whenever I need to lose half a stone, doing the above gets me back down to where I want to be in a couple of weeks.

I moved to vape from tabs around 3 years ago and have gradually decreased nicotine, as cold turkey failed for me twice.

I’ve now gone a month with nicotine free juice and I’m not craving it. It’s just habit when sat on a nice with a brew, or the walk to work. No longer require it whilst at work or at all when at home. Going to try and break the habit by the start of Autum.

Also, although I’ve just launched a beer, I’ve been T-total for 3 weeks now.

Although I never classed myself as having a problem, I began to have issues. Weight is a key one, but also I was drinking ale daily for around 2 months. Usually just a pint after work, but occasionally 5 or 6 on a Friday. I also run events in bars and nightclubs which entails free drinks.

Basically, I was drinking a fuck load, and I turned from a happy drunk in to an angry one. I upset someone close to me, so enough was enough.

I’m very confident I can keep this up. I’m an all or nothing person so we’ll see how it goes.

I only eat shit when I’m pissed, which granted, ended up being quite a lot, but my diet will be fine when I retune over this next week.

Just need to start walking to work again, fell out of the habit and it’s a decent 50 mins there and the same back. I was walking it daily until around Feb.

Im the biggest I’ve been in a while at 15 stone, I appreciate a lot of people are happy at that weight and I wish I was one of them.

Target weight is 13.7. So aye, that’s the craic.

So, I've finally reached the age where a doctor is going to have to look and probably feel up my anus.

I've noticed a small, but still quite sizable, lump on my anus the last few weeks. I was hoping it would just go away, but it hasn't so I've booked in to see the doctor next week and am convinced I have anus cancer.

Of all the cancers I could get, I think anus is the worst one just from a telling people perspective. In fact, if I do have anus cancer, I'm going to tell people I have a different, less gross form.

Keep repeating to yourself "(Not gay, not gay)" and it'll. help you through.

or do an ironic bit about how a foreign doctor with their hand fucking your diseased British arse is the perfect metaphor for post Brexit Britain for your set.

Ive been violated by doctors and specialists on numerous occasions (and at the hospital appointments too...) , its rather unpleasant but you are doing the right thing in getting it checked out, if you strain or have to strain to go to the toilet, or you get itching and stuff like that, it could be a hemorrhoid to be honest

There's no pain at all, actually. It's just...there.

Hope it works out for you Spurs.

Whilst it's probably a cold comfort but think yourself lucky you're not female as doctors are always keen to internally investigate us.  Mr Deathrey and I have been having some investigations as I've been struggling to get pregnant, all he s had to do is jizz in a cup but the doctors seem to find new things to stick up my vagina every time we go for an appointment, everything from ultrasound scopes to balloons :(

As a teenager I had a lump at the top of my bum and it turned out to be an inflamed hair follicle, it was painless but big and just kind of 'there's as you put it, so it may be something similar but always worth checking out.

I'm assuming you've given these a look

I wouldn't worry too much as the Doctor is most likely checking to be on the safe side. Could just be something simple or if it's like a polyp, one which is non cancerous. Or, worse case scenario, one they have found fairly quickly & can treat.

Just a quick line to give the highest recommendation to the C25K running app. I dropped a jeans size in about 2 months by just sticking to the schedule and eating right. I had to repeat a few of the weeks due to a bit of struggle getting past the 22-minute mark but the progress is incredible.

At the start of May, I could barely run the first set (eight 1 minute runs supplemented with 8 ninety second walks for twenty minutes ) without almost collapsing and breathing like I'd just shrunk my lungs. This morning, about 3 months later, I comfortably ran the full 5K (just over half an hour) in one go. The system works!

I'm gonna keep working on my time for a few weeks, see if I can bring it down to 5K in 25 minutes, then I'll move onto *gulp* C210K. The first step in C210K? Four ten minute runs supplemented with a minute of walking. Fuck a duck.

My diet consists of knocking out all the traditionally bad stuff; white bread, junk food, cheese, crisps, fizzy pop, alcohol etc. Occasionally, stuff like bread and cheese will sneak it's way into meals but it's all in moderation. I only drink alcohol on weekends now (if ever), same goes for junk food and takeways, and I've not touched pop or crisps in ages. It's nothing blow away or new, but it works for me. Really happy with the results so far.

What have you replaced your food sources with out of interest? My diet has been especially bad for a while now and it's not really been that varied since I was a kid, so I find it difficult replacing certain items.

Anyone have any experience with swimming-based workouts? Thinking of signing up for a monthly swimming pass as opposed to gym and swim, wondering if it's worth the effort without the gym element?
