Percy Watson is a washout on the commentary, he's the pits. Genuinely happy for Corey Graves though - don't get me wrong, he's been on RAW for a while now, but I really enjoy his stuff. Glad he's getting the 'promotion'.

I enjoyed the show, although it was much more of a one match card, built heavily around Roode.

A solid, if unspectacular show. That Roode vs. Nakamura match was excellent though. I'd probably rate it higher than any of the matches Nakamura has had in NXT so far, excluding the blinder with Sami Zayn. My wife, who hates pro wrestling, has been humming, "Glorious," all day to our little boy. Bobby Roode's daft entrances and awesome music have become the only thing she has any interest in. She finds him hilarious.

Seth Rollins though. Fucking hell. I'm utterly convinced at this point that someone is sabotaging his career. I wasn't really paying attention when his segment started, but the moment I realised what was happening I rewound it to the beginning, super excited for what was going to happen. It screamed big angle from the start.

On paper, him invading NXT to get Triple H sounded awesome. But then he just gets taken away be security and that's it. Nothing else. What a dickhead. First he comes back as a heel when everyone wants him to be a babyface, then his eventual babyface turn comes about when a fellow heel turns on him and now even when he does the big angle where it's sort of necessary that he causes havoc, he just gets escorted out of the building with ease. Even if we take is as read that WWE are awful at writing babyfaces these days, this is on a whole different level. Someone somewhere has to be fucking with him, surely?

Funnily enough I called Rollins being at Takeover on our preview show before the UK Championship, but envisioned Tripper doing his usual pre-show 'WE ARE NXT' speech only for Seth to smack him and beat him down. My guess is that they thought about that but decided not to as they're still holding off on them getting physical before tonight or before Raw, but they clearly didn't think about how lame that would make this look as a result.

In short; concept great, execution poor, as per usual with Seth.

.

That would've been awesome. Trying to figure out how to do it properly I couldn't come up with a believable reason as to why Triple H would have been in front of the crowd. The best I could come up with was him maybe shaking hands and congratulating the new champions or something, only for Seth to attack him. I'd forgotten about the few times he'd opened the show. It would've been perfect for Rolling to jump out of the crowd and smack him. Such a shame. That would've been wild.

Did anybody else hear just before the start of the Dillinger/ Young match another voice come on commentary? Young throws his jacket on the ground and tells Dillinger to join them. Graves says something along the lines of "Young is asking Dillinger to join him". Mystery voice chimes in "He's not asking ,he's demanding" which Percy Watson then repeats verbatim. Sounded like somebody fucked up and patched in a mic from gorilla, not sure who's voice it was, Albert maybe?

I'm not a regular NXT viewer but I liked the sound of Nakamura vs Roode so tuned into TakeOver (even though Howard Finkel, of all people, spoiled the result on Twitter).

I enjoyed the show overall, but a couple of points to make:

If the heel tandem in the Women's Title four-way didn't care which of them won (as demonstrated when one of them covered Asuka while the other stood and watched), then why didn't they just pin each other when they had the ring to themselves, instead of picking Asuka off the floor and rolling her back in?

And in the main event, as Corey Graves pointed out on commentary, how is Roode "stealing" the win by capitalising on a legally-caused injury after Nakamura insisted on continuing the match? Isn't that the whole point of the contest? To physically wear down your opponent until he submits or gets pinned? If this finish was supposed to give Nakamura a sympathetic "excuse" for losing, then it didn't work on me. He lost fair and square, to an opponent who did exactly what was expected of him.

To leave on a positive, I really liked the Rollins segment and wouldn't have done it any differently.

I just don't get Billie Kay at all, her face looks weird and she's not the best wrestler either. Peyton Royce is the better of the two, (The spin kick reversal into a widows peak was great), but again I don't buy her as a legit threat in the division at all.

Nikki Cross though, is amazing. Definitely up for Cross/Asuka at some point.

Billie Kaye, oh man. I get what MrE says about her face looking weird, she's not a conventional beauty in that sense. But I dunno...there's something naughty about her. Not Danny Dyer 'nawty', but a liquid-sex extra marital activity kind of naughty that would land a man in deep shit. No wonder her old nickname was 'the boyfriend stealer'.

All through that Rollins segment I had one thought, "this would be a million times better if it were Owens". Rollins just isn't an everyday guy designed to fight the system, he is a smarmy looking twat who would steal your missus. I can't get behind him in this role, I'm sorry I just can't, I don't like him, there is nothing endearing.

Owens did some tremendous anti authority stuff in ROH, I'm not his biggest fan but he is that guy, not Rollins.

Cien Almas should never be losing to Roddy Strong, what a travesty. Apart from that finish everything else was fine, apart from the main even which i thought was Nakamura's best match in quite some time. Bobby Roode and the Miz must be the only proper heels in the company right now, truly glorious!
