(after Grampa says he's going to the outhouse) Lisa: Wait a minute, we don't have an outhouse... Similarly to that one, The Simpsons are staying at a family members house. Homer: I'm going to use the outhouse Man: Outhouse? Oh my God my recording studio!

Awards Moderator HarmonicGenerator Posted April 17, 2012 Awards Moderator Posted April 17, 2012 A few from the (topically-scheduled) horse racing episode that was on C4 tonight. Haven't seen it in ages and forgot how many decent bits and pieces there are in it: "I'd rather let a thousand guilty men go free than chase after them." Homer: He better win, because if he doesn't, it's a trip to the glue factory. And he isn't coming! Lenny: It's a brilliant tour, but you can't see it all in one day. "Good luck getting a horse to eat dog food..." Homer: I'll deal with those murderous trolls... Bart: Huh? Homer: I mean... I'll deal with those murderous trolls...

Awards Moderator HarmonicGenerator Posted March 6, 2013 Awards Moderator Posted March 6, 2013 Sorry for the thread resurrection, but I had Creedence Clearwater Revival on in the car on the way to work today, and was reminded of this, which to be fair I've probably already posted in here somewhere: Official: Do you know CPR? Homer: "I see, a bad moon rising..." Marge: Homer, that's CCR! Homer: (worried) "Looks like, we're in for stormy weather..." Then I switched to the radio, and 'I Am The Walrus' was on, and I was reminded of Bart and Milhouse finding Flanders' secret Beatles room, which contained the George Harrison DIY gem - 'I'm fixing a hole... in my drywall!' That same scene also has Bart quoting the "dripping from a dead dog's eye" line, if I recall. The Simpsons can do fantastic musical references when it wants to. EDIT: I'm just re-reading through the whole thread. There are so many brilliant lines, I'm chuckling to myself and getting some very odd looks at work...
Moderators Chest Rockwell Posted March 6, 2013 Moderators Posted March 6, 2013 Not musical, but also in the scene when Bart and Milhouse break into Flanders house - on his VCR there is a tape called "Girls gone Mild". Hah.
Awards Moderator HarmonicGenerator Posted March 17, 2013 Awards Moderator Posted March 17, 2013 The Stonecutters episode was on channel 4 today, one of those twenty minute bursts of utter genius where you remember how The Simpsons at its best really was The Best Thing Ever. "It's a secret..." "Sssshut up!"

"It's a secret..." "Sssshut up!" my #2 episode, behind 'King-Size Homer' "8:58, the first time I've ever been early for work. Except for all those daylight savings days... lousy farmers"
