Paid Members chokeout Posted January 4, 2012 Paid Members Posted January 4, 2012 Richard Herring just tweeted Series 2 released next year. TMWRNJ will hopefully follow. Only worry is it's done well enough for BBC to try it themselves #theydfuckitup Quote

Paid Members gmoney Posted January 5, 2012 Paid Members Posted January 5, 2012 It's great news. If you haven't already, get the Fist of Fun first series DVD. Not only does the show stand up, the commentaries and interviews and really fantastic if you're a comedy anorak like myself. Four discs of stuff as well! Quote
King Pitcos Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 No wonder he keeps quiet about it. It was really awful. Emma Pierson is bloody lovely, though. She is indeed. Big fan of her -- and the show, at the time. But I caught an episode of it the other night on one of the comedy channels and it is truly, truly terrible. Quote
Daaaaaad! Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 Meant to say btw, did anyone find it unbelievably funny that Stewart Lee won two British Comedy Awards this year? He must've been livid. Quote
Keith Houchen Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 Meant to say btw, did anyone find it unbelievably funny that Stewart Lee won two British Comedy Awards this year? He must've been livid. And was featured in The Sun's top ten comedians of the year. Quote
Kawaii Guy Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 Meant to say btw, did anyone find it unbelievably funny that Stewart Lee won two British Comedy Awards this year? He must've been livid. The clip shown after his first award summed it up quite well. "what will you do if you win an award""I hope I dont because It would ruin any credibility I had left"Im awaiting my student loan to arrive in my bank so i can order tickets for the new tour, Im in london next weekend but couldn't get tickets for any of next weekends shows. (only single seats left, and very few at that) Im also expecting my If you would prefer... EP book to arrive shortly.I also listened to the audio version of 90s comedian today, I think the final bit may be my favourite bit of stand up. (especially the final line which ties the show together perfectly). Quote
Keith Houchen Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 I'm off to that London tomorrow to see Stewart Lee, Mrs Houchen got us the tickets and a hotel as a Christmas Prezzie. Get in! Quote

Kawaii Guy Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 I ended up seeing him on my london trip a few weeks ago. Really brilliant show. How his on stage persona has progressed is wonderful, meaning for those that have followed him through his post-springer shows, this show will be a favourite. I did take along a guy who had never seen Stewart Lee before, he had also never been to a stand up comedy show. By the end of the show he was a complete convert. Quote
Moderators Chest Rockwell Posted January 27, 2012 Moderators Posted January 27, 2012 3 Observer columns in 3 weeks, all of them bloody brilliant. You (or anyone) got links? Quote
Loki Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 How come you still can't get the Fist Of Fun DVD from Amazon? Is it only ever going to be available directly from the publisher? Quote
Paid Members Dead Mike Posted January 27, 2012 Paid Members Posted January 27, 2012 Yeah, I think Go Faster Stripe do it all in-house to keep the costs down, stops Amazon taking their cut. I got the FoF boxset for xmas & apparently it came super quick. I'd recommend getting it, the extras are fantastic. Quote
