King Pitcos
Silicon Valley was pretty great. First I've heard of the Peter Gregory actor dying, he was tremendous in that role.
Paid Members SpursRiot2012 Posted August 3, 2014 Paid Members Share Posted August 3, 2014 (edited) The Leftovers is seriously good (aside from Chief Garvey's daughter, who I hate). I watched all five episodes today and am eagerly awaiting the next. I recommend.  Although, you can TELL that Damon Lindelof is involved. Merzbow
It's good to see some Silicon Valley love, it's everything i could want from a "nerd" based comedy and Mike Judge is always ace. Â I've started watching the X-Files from the very start, not watched it properly and only ever caught the odd episode as a kid. I thought it'd age really badly but i'm loving it, even the episodes that many seem to think were shit (except Space, that's fucking garbage). Tooms has to be one of the best baddies ever, shame he only lasted two epsiodes. Edited August 4, 2014 by Merzbow
GalaxyV.2
Bloody love Justified. Series 2 being the best of the bunch. It strikes such a great tone of serious and comedic. Everyone in it seems to love being in it
Paid Members Fox Piss Posted August 4, 2014 Paid Members Share Posted August 4, 2014 (edited) Leftovers opened up a bit more in the latest episode. Watching it you can't help but feel the plot is going to turn into a car crash but with it being based on a book (i think) and HBO behind it hopefully it has a plan. The Nora episode 100X better than the Matt one which at this point just seems a waste of a episode. Edited August 4, 2014 by Fox Piss
Paid Members SpursRiot2012 Posted August 4, 2014 Paid Members Share Posted August 4, 2014 (edited) Â That episode just seemed like a long way round of showing the GR buying up the church. Â However, given the bleakness of the show, I was watching from behind my hands when Matt was in the casino. Couldn't believe he actually did it and won. But then, of course, he nearly got robber after so... Â Edited August 4, 2014 by SpursRiot2012
Paid Members LaGoosh Posted August 4, 2014 Paid Members Share Posted August 4, 2014 I just finished ep4 of The Leftovers. I'm kind of enjoying it but it's so fucking bleak and depressing that afterwards I just feel sad. Also there is no clear direction as to where it's all going so it's kind of hard to stick with it at this point. I'm hoping it picks up later on. At the moment it's just this grey sad floundering show with interesting characters but nothing really to show for it.
bono
Just watched gomorrah on sky atlantic. Its some italian mafia show. This was the first in the series. Loki
The arrival of The Shield on Netflix means I'm burning through it. Â Excellent show. It owes a LOT to Homicide (one of the main characters, Dutch, is basically lifted completely from that show) but with the addition of a crazy Vic Mackey character to weld it all together. They have nearly finished season 1 and starting on season 2 soon - Can I dive in now or is it the sort of show you really need to have been watching from the start? Paid Members Egg Shen Posted August 5, 2014 Paid Members Share Posted August 5, 2014 there's some underlying themes going on but the X Files is the kind of thing you can usually just dip into wherever.

Paid Members PunkStep Posted August 5, 2014 Paid Members Share Posted August 5, 2014 The History channel shows about as much 'history' as MTV shows music videos these days.
Paid Members LaGoosh Posted August 5, 2014 Paid Members Share Posted August 5, 2014 I did not know that. Back when I had digital it was endless shows about Nazis.
