Rossman Posted September 5 Posted September 5 Russel Martin is working his magic at Leicester. 4-0 drubbing at home to Oxford today. The tiki-taka tosspot has got them playing his usual route 101 football, which is so ineffective in League 1. Oxford chucked balls over the top, defence were hapless, constantly caught off guard. Even at the kick off for the 2nd half they messed it up. Leicester kicked it back to a defender, who under pressure kicked the ball at another Leicester player. It ricocheted & Oxford were through to score, but missed a sitter. Football can be a cruel mistress when you've got a bad mixture of incompetent board and deluded manager. They spent £100m on a new training facility in 2020. One of the best in Europe, and they're getting battered in League One. Real reality check for them, and in their current setup there is no way of them getting out of this league this season. (Unless they get relegated!) Quote

A potential free agent deal fell through at the medical stage, but Mowbray says if he can keep his current squad together and fit then they should have a decent chance at not getting relegated. I have a feeling this is Blackburn under Venky's now, steadying the ship in the middle of the Championship, bringing youth players through the academy and then selling them to pay off the owners' debts that they somehow owe to themselves. At least that's how it'll be until all the stuff awaiting trial in India finally goes to trial. That or some serious money comes along and buys the club. Quote

It was an incorrect decision, but they should be putting a ten-man team away, or at worst drawing - not losing after the card. Don’t care how extremely talented he is, we can’t have a 15 year old and his dad trying to call the shots. Allegedly, his dad is a fucking nightmare and the cause of this. Watch next talented academy player Chido Obi be next to go when he doesn’t get what he wants. He’s already had a sulk. Apparently Man City were interested, a move to them and he'll be out on European loan after loan the next few years but it'll bounce his wages and value up more than being bled into the United squad slowly.
