I'll be honest, every time I see a stat from the Championship about the largest stadiums in the league or whatever, a shiver still goes up my spine. What could've been eh? It's only right I say something about Spurs. They've found the PIN and have actually spent some huge money already with more to follow apparently! I'm not gonna say we've overspent or anything, but all I know is that we've addressed a massive issue, so I'm OK with that (some fannies are saying "little old Spurs" have ruined the transfer market. Can you hear yourselves?) But it means nothing unless we address that forward line with a proper striker. Richarlison, my big beautiful socialist son, I love you, but time is time brother. Look at him! How can you hate him? Having said that, our injured forwards are still looking punchy in Simons, Kulusevski (When? Ever?) and Kudus, so it's not the worst thing. I think in De Zerbi we've got the best manager we could've and we'll absolutely win the league or be relegated after he has a shit fit in December* Absolutely incredible to tie Porro down until 2031 before the World Cup. A master class. I do think it's that lots to win again, and this year Rick and Hull are back in the big time and we welcome Merzbow and the other Cov fans too. Can Southampton win promotion by building a siege mentality? Perhaps. Can West Ham go back up at the first attempt? Yes. Can Hearts have another crack in Scotland? Probably not. I cannot fucking wait. I have tickets to Brentford (keep it locked, each and every) away for the Bacon derby and then the first home game against Newcastle which should be a spicy affair with Tonali now in N17. Can I get, to the tune of Tsunami by the Manics, "Tonali Tonali came to the Lane to win the leeeeaaague" going in the stands? I'll try! Bring It all on and god bless you all for having to go through my nonsense again. *5th. It goes to show that I'm such a mug, I was eligible for a season ticket this year after back to back 17th finishes, and I very nearly pulled the trigger but they were shit seats. What an idiot. Quote

For years and years, the joke was that the team from the city (Forest) played in the county, and the team from the county (Notts) played in the city. Sing your "there's only one team in Nottingham" song now, dickheads. Picture in spoiler to show just how close they are, which made it all the more daft. Notts County at the bottom, Forest in the middle, and the apparently world famous Trent Bridge at the top, where they play some kind of ball sport or something. Spoiler As a bonus, my father in-law is FUCKING RAGING that Arnold is being dragged into the city borough along with West Bridgford. Last two seasons it was fairly easy to get tickets as we were absolutely shit, but next season should see it be a bit harder. I am in an official Supporters group down here in Hampshire, which makes it way easier as they get allocated tickets before they go on sale, and every game I've applied for last two years I've got tickets, sadly even the North London derbies. I pay a tenner a year for it and my youngest is free, but you do have to be a One Hotspur member (60 odd quid a year) and without that you may struggle. One Hotspur basically gets you in the queue and you can't buy or receive a ticket from another member to attend without it. Most games you will need a membership to attend, and you'd each need one I'm afraid. Next season the only way you'll get in will be NFC as they're doing away with QR Codes, which is how people got away with selling to non members before with a screenshot, so it's even harder (I believe NFC is actually a league requirement, we've just been behind) The online sale is a farce as you essentially have around 50,000 people (average queue on sale date) all trying to get less than 10,000 tickets which is why I joined that group. They do a minibus up every game as well which me and my youngest have done a couple of times and it's as you'd expect for people that predominantly live in Pompey 😆 You'd be very hard pressed to get a couple of tickets for a huge game like Arsenal, but might be able to get a single off the exchange (when Season Ticket holders can't go and put theirs up for sale) your best bet may be to go for a Carabao Cup game as they often go general sale (no membership required apart from the free account you have to create) FA Cup too. You can always look for a supporters group in your area, there are loads up and down the country. I can't recommend this enough, I haven't had to go on the online sale for 3 years now and it's a godsend. The only drawback is as the club allocates it, there are limited areas they can allocate. We're usually behind the North stand goal, which is fine but my youngest struggles a bit to see when the ball is down the other end. But it is right next to the away fans which she loves. She's too young for the safe standing in the South (better atmosphere) by a year which massively pisses her off as she loves to sing and chant and where we are is a bit dead. I've created a monster. Or if you want to splash out for a special occasion (and what screams special occasion more than erm Spurs vs Ipswich...sorry Ipswich) Spurs do have official resellers that do hospitality tickets and a Cat C game like that will probably set you back 150ish each, no membership required and saves you hassle. DO NOT go through unofficial sellers, really not worth it. Having said all that, if there is a game you particularly fancy, let me know as the group I'm in are always selling tickets, but you will need a One Hotspur membership and account. Its bullshit you have to pay 60 quid a year to access a queue but such is modern football. Or you could just keep your money and be much happier in life Hope that helps! One of the most intersting/baffling subjects so far is Leicester City. It's madness that a team who were relgated into League One have released Patson Daka (£23m signing now heading for Hamburg), Ricardo Pereira (25m Euro) and Jordan Ayew (£5m signing who just went to the World Cup) while Jannik Vestergaard (£15m) was let go mutually. They've let Victor Kristiansen (£17m) go to Panathinaikos on loan, Harry Winks (£10m) has moved to Cagliari for an undisclosed fee, youth product Jeremy Monga went to Man City for an initial £10m and Abdul Fatawu (17 million euro) is about to join Ipswich for £20m. It just highlights how ridiculous their relegation was. They're in League One and they're selling players to the PL, Serie A and Bundesliga. They're sending a lad out on load to one of Greece's biggest clubs who are in the Conference League. They've still got Wout Faes (£15m), Oliver Skipp (£20m), Harry Souttar (£15m), Stephy Mavididi (£6m) and Woyo Coulibaly (£3m) hanging around, and Ben Nelson and Luke Thomas who are homegrown lads they could sell for good fees, Bobby De Cordova-Reid earning a fortune and Hamza Choudhury, who'll still be at Leicester in the 2041/42 season. (£21m signing Bilal El Khannouss, who also went to the World Cup, has moved to Stuttgart for £15m but he was out on loan last season.) Quote

I think the big difference this summer is the amounts they're paying and the fact they've signed players other big clubs want. Last summer, they only got players no-one else wanted, albeit for a load of money. But no-one big was competing for Kevin Danso. The big signings they wanted, like Eze, went elsewhere because Spurs didn't pay the big fees and the big wages required to sign players ahead of Arsenal. Going and getting Fernandes ahead of Man Utd, Tonali, who lots have been linked with, and long-term target Van Hecke seems like proper, serious business. I think Senesi and Robertson on frees are coups too. Quote

Spurs have always "spent money" but transfer fees are not the barometer anymore, its wages, and ours has been shockingly low for how much revenue we make. A transfer can be spread over many years so its...well not worth dismissing entirely, but yeah for me it doesn't mean much these days. It seems that the shackles are off a bit and Simons, Tonali and yes Gallagher are on top whack at the club now. I'm a Cov fan, and had a season ticket every year I lived there (and a few for after I left). I also love live football, and I am quite happy going to games at whatever ground is nearest and cheering on (usually) the home team. I'd never do Leicester or Villa like, but over the years i've been a regular attendee at Stamford Bridge when I lived that way as well as Fulham, did the Emirates quite a bit when I lived in Camden; and, now, we've just moved to the new-build flats next to the G Tech so i've got myself a club membership and will try and go to as many games as I can. Up the Bees, or whatever they say. Quote
