Mr_Danger Posted July 26 Posted July 26 In fairness if you’re Harry Wilson who has yo-yoed with being one of the best Championship players and a decent premier league option your whole career then earning £100k a week four 4 years at the age of 29 is pretty lofty as far as ambitions go. Might even be able to afford to drop down (or hopefully move laterally by the point) and play for Wrexham for £20k a week at the end of that contract. Quote

I've some "friends" who are Leeds fans - can't be real friends with a Leeds fan - and they think I'm just dunking on them, which I usually am, but I think it's such a lack of ambition for him. It's a great signing for Leeds. He's a very good PL winger, takes great set pieces and scores goals and I think they'll love him there. But he's 29, just had the best couple of seasons in his career and got himself free to go whereever he wants. I've obviously no idea what offers he's had but surely if his agent is any good, he's had offers to join some really big clubs outside the PL? He could go have a couple of years in Milan or Turin or Monaco or something and come back and earn big money in a couple of years. Just smacks of a move for money and I think he'll regret it one day. Maybe they've realised they need actual players, not the NPCs they buy and sell every year. Still, he's 1000x better than that absolute bum Delap, the Miller & Carter of football players. Quote

Made that it was obvious a year ago to the average Joe who'd ever watched football but took people who've invested (wasted) a billion and a half quid this long to realise. I get the thought process but at some point, you need players who can, you know, play. Still, they tried to get Xhaka and failed. Who does that leave? Palhinha, Lerma, Will Highes and Henderson?
