Glenryck Pilchards Posted July 28 Posted July 28 Spoiler I think I have got it. I think it is Mark Viduka. I am sure he played under Venables at Leeds. He definitely played for McClaren and Southgate at Boro, then the Judas went up the road to Newcastle and I believe he played under Allardyce and Keegan during one of their clown-car seasons. Quote

Correct! Hilariously, and this goes to show how shit it is, a mate gave up, used ChatGPT, it gave him the right player (scraped from the info of the question on Twitter I guess) some of the right managers but not the right clubs they managed. Absolutely the worst thing ever that. Also he is the only player to do it, someone in the comments suggested Danny Mills, who has 4 and they'd said he played under Sven as well at City. Never made a Prem appearance for them though. Right, I must get on 😆 Quote
Paid Members I Bent My Wookie Posted July 28 Paid Members Posted July 28 Spoiler Ruled him out as well. Spent way too much time thinking of players from the early days of the League from 92 onwards. Was sure myself it was gonna be David Batty. Howard Wilkinson at Leeds and Terry when he went back, but my dates were off for Robson and Keegan at Newcastle and I think my brain made me think Roy Hodgson was the title winning manager at Blackburn 😂 Spoilered my thoughts so people can still play along. One of those managers you mentioned didn't manage England. Edit: on a full time basis, apologies. But yeah still wrong due to your aforementioned 94/95 aberration Edited July 28 by SuperBacon Quote

Glenryck Pilchards Posted July 28 Posted July 28 (edited) Boom! I will spoiler my thought process. Spoiler After seeing the question I immediately thought of Stewart Downing, but after seeing it was ruled out after Tiger Rick guessed him I started racking my brains. It had to be a player with multiple clubs during 2000-2010 and had to play for either Man City under Keegan, Pearce, and Eriksson as Tiger Rick mentioned previously, or played for the mighty Boro during the reigns of McClaren and Southgate. There was a high turnover of players between 2004-07 at Middlesbrough due to the UEFA Cup campaign. I thought of Woodgate, but he never played under McClaren at Boro, he signed on loan from Real Madrid during Southgate's first season. JFH and Yakubu also came under consideration, but Jimmy went to Chelsea before Venables took charge, and Yakubu possibly played for Allardyce, but I couldn't match him up with another England Manager. I briefly thought of caretaker managers and Peter Taylor came to mind, but quickly ruled out that line as he only ever managed Leicester in the PL for one season and that squad was full of cloggers. Then Mark Viduka came to mind. I knew for certain of the first three managers, but the managerial merry-go-round at Newcastle between 2007-2010 had to have provided two England managers. I completely forgotten about King Kev's second run as manager until I read about it in his obituary at the weekend. Cracking question @SuperBacon! Edited July 28 by Glenryck Pilchards Quote

Thanks, but I can't take credit, like I said, came from the OptaJoe twitter feed, cracker though innit? I felt very smug in correcting the person who offered up Danny Mills a second player though, as they were very sure they were right. Quote

Paid Members I Bent My Wookie Posted July 28 Paid Members Posted July 28 Question for any Cov or Sunderland fans on the board, or someone who had been watching them during their Championship/League One days. Been looking at viable keeper options to be a second to Sinsalo at Celtic after Kaspers retirement, because we don't need to be spunking more money up the wall when he should be ready to be first choice now, or at least next season fully. Noticed Lee Burge has been released from his most recent League 1 club and is available. Does anyone know if he'd be much kop as a back up keeper/rotation for cup games in the top league of Scotland. I'm slightly invested in the idea as he knocked me out twice in a row playing Rugby when we were 15 and I played in some youth football with him, but with less than a week until our first game and no designated ready second choice keeper (none of our youth options are ready) I feel we need to be looking for a stable pair of hands ASAP. In less panic news, Hogh for 11 million seems like a great bit of business. Quote

Who? Whack answers in spoiler box if you wanna have a go and you can have until 6. Edit: you're all good lads, but I think it goes without saying that if you cheat or use ChatGPT you should receive a life time ban. The latter should only be used for FM tactics. It was Mark Viduka. Well done @Glenryck Pilchards for getting it right, that was fun. Here, have my favourite Viduka goal ever, and a bonus Kewell one. The lad having a tab at the start 😆 Quote
Paid Members tiger_rick Posted July 28 Paid Members Posted July 28 Was going through the Boro teams so we'll annoyed by that one. Came up with Woodgate too, as someone mentioned but couldn't get a fifth for him or Downing (on the basis that there isn't one). Well done @Glenryck Pilchards Quote
stewdogg Posted July 28 Posted July 28 Gemini says Stephen Carr is also correct. Venables and Hoddle at Spurs; Robson, Allardyce and Keegan at Newcastle Quote
