Venables and Hoddle at Spurs; Robson, Allardyce and Keegan at Newcastle This is a cracking look at AI in microcosm. An idiot asks it a question (to which the answer is already available to him). It gives him the wrong answer (which he doesn't double check), and then he announces it confidently to peers, looking like a prize berk. Quote
d-d-d-dAz Posted July 29 Posted July 29 Not wanting to defend AI obviously, but does Carr fit into that weird period where... and forgive me Bacon, my Spurs history isn't great... Venables was 'promoted' from First Team Manager by Alan Sugar to CEO, but still had some involvement in first team training? If so, I would imagine there's probably some articles around wrongly attributing Venables as Carr's 'manager', and because AI is often thick and doesn't differentiate between credible and rubbish sources it's put 2 and 2 together to get 5? Paid Members gmoney Posted July 29 Paid Members Posted July 29 I don't know how anyone could construe that as a defence really, so you don't need to worry. Quote

Stephen Carr was given his debut by Ossie Ardiles after Terry Venables had left Spurs. Edit: Badly worded originally. Edited July 29 by SuperBacon In the cup for tottingham Quote

It also literally just makes shit up to try to make you happy. A while back I asked Gemini what the slang "George and Andrew" meant as I'd never come across it before (apparently it's naval slang for hot as fuck, stemming from George & Andrew being Wham and that sounding akin to "warm" in certain regional accents). Whilst it got the Wham reference, it told me was it was Cockney rhyming slang for "tandem" as in bicycle, because they were a pair. When I called it out for that clearly being bullshit because it doesn't even rhyme (and made zero sense in the context I'd heard it, which I hadn't provided), it said "yeah, I just made it up and tried to give you a vaguely convincing backstory. That's what I do". People using AI for major decision making terrifies me. Quote
Paid Members tiger_rick Posted July 29 Paid Members Posted July 29 Could be in the other thread but we have a football camp at our ground today. It's hot as fuck so all the kids have come into the clubhouse for lunch and are having a quiz. It's brilliant to hear them being so into it. Fuck knows how all these kids, born in or after 2016, know about Maradona, Uruguay winning the first World Cup or Pickles the dog, but it's so awesome. Wasn't impressed when the "quiz master" said only one person in the room was alive for this question "Who won the first World Cup in 1930?" and he clearly meant me... Quote

But it's mad how much knowledge and information they pick up from everywhere. We watched this YouTube video quiz thing recently where it flashes a club badge up and fastest to answer wins. She absolutely rinsed me, I didn't even know half of them! FIFA innit? Quote

I've got an 11 year old football obsessed nephew, who has often surprised me with his old football knowledge, especially old players. For him its mostly from the FIFA, or whatever its called now, football game with its Ultimate Team mode. Which has loads of your all time greats in it as playable footballers. Also Tiktok with its clips of players like Ronaldinho in his prime doing tricks, and classic goals. I had to convince the little git that Blackburn had won the Premier League once though, because we have been "rubbish" his whole life. Can't really blame him for that tbh, as its true. Quote
