Fortunately my son is happy to support Celtic because I do (and I do because my Mum's family were all Celtic and my Dad supported Celtic although his family did not) and being at a Catholic school there is quite a few Celtic supporters around him. It's not forced and if he said he didn't want to I don't think I'd really care. My Dad had Spurs as his English team, mainly because of Hoddle who he thought was one of the greatest players ever. My son wants to support Arsenal becasue they've started doing well just as he's got into football and I've said I'd rather you just didn't support Arsenal because of his Grandad, why not Brentford or Spurs. If he does want to fine, but I'm taking him to Brentford vs Frankfurt next week in an attempt to get him away from the idea. For note my English team is Hanwell Town because that's my home town and it has some sort of emotional response for me, and in rugby I support Trailfinders for the same reason. edit: @I Bent My Wookie Different conversation, but you mentioned Hearts look weak after being gutted. Motherwell still look like they are playing some sexy football and doing alright despite losing Watt, Just, Ward and Askou. Celtic were okay last night but we need reinforcements fast. Especially with Johnston likely off and even now Tierney being linked with Spain again, we just aren't moving fast enough for a team with European games to play up until Xmas too. Quote

I think Celtic look wank tbh, no real style and based on a philosophy of having the best players to grind out a win. Even with better players I'm not sure it's going to look pretty really. Quote

LASK could batter us. He was the only one feeding crosses into the box, which is scary, fotunately he's good at it and set up a sitter for Nygren. LASK could batter us, I don't really know much about them. But in recent years Austrian teams haven't done much in Europe, especially since RB Salzburg sort of went down hill, even worse than Scottish teams last season (a bit of an achievement that). Bless, you're assuming there's logic to it. Unfortunately English domestic football is run by amateurs and so the midweek of 1-3 September is blank for Premier League clubs for no reason. The Carabao is this weekend because they're clueless, not because it'll help free up space in the calendar further down the line. Quote
