So this is apparently a thing:

Concept is kinda interesting, although it reads like the matches are 15 minutes long total - with 6 teams in the league you'd assume 3 'fixtures' a night, so a maximum of 45 mins action a show. Even Wrestlemania had more than that.

Perhaps it's two 15-minute halves though which would be a bit more like it, particularly as each match appears to be a team (trio, I'm gonna guess?) iron-man match. 

Can see a cease and desist in their future for the Glasgow Hitmen name/logo/colour scheme, though.

Way less interesting than the matches actually being contested between teams, IMO.

I guess it's been a while since we've had one of these ambitious concept start-ups pop up here. Credit for trying something different. Potential is there if done right (as ever, a big if) And also feels like it could be a money black hole. DQ graphic very amusing. 😂

This seems like a great concept, its personally piqued my interest and I wish them well. 

I agree with the money black hole comment. I think this could potentially be brilliant, but it is one of those things where i think the vast majority would totally dismiss it. 

Who knows, we'll see.

It could be interesting to see if people use falls wisely. Say twat someone with a chair, get a dq but gain 2 falls or take a submission rather than hang on.

Like team MMA the concept will live or die in hoping that fans give a fuck about the teams, i'm predicting they won't. I can't imagine a world where pockets of fans from whichever part of the country will support their team, but i'm happy to be proven wrong.

The team logos look like they're possibly AI generated, the Midlands one especially does.

I'd assume that they don't. I think it could work as part of a gimmick season in an existing promotion and you sell football shirts off the back of it.

Indistinguishable from the team logo garbage you could commission on Fiverr 10 or so years ago. May as well be AI even if they're not, they were the plague of local esports scenes the entire time I was part of it.

Saw this around a week ago as they've clearly dumped a load of money on bog paper magazine producer Inside the Ropes for promotion.

 

"Here we go again" was my reaction. The biggest red flag is always the way they promote it and venues they choose. I can't imagine any of these small arenas are cheap. Most would be where Rev Pro and alike would run a huge show. 

I've been wrong before though, I thought Progress wouldn't work and even CXW is doing well. Never can tell sometimes

Be two falls up with the opponent going strong - kick them in the balls and get a DQ but still be in the lead, get your mo back, wait the timer out. Loads of potential dynamics that could apply to longer marathon matches (which are often shit and boring) - especially for heels.

Youre never going to book a match to be a 4-0 thrashing, where the time just expires, so wouldnt it become really tiresome, really quickly, when every match has a close score going into the last couple of minutes?

There’s different things you can do. Have a monster heel be crushing an underdog 4-0 after 10 minutes. Babyface (let’s call him Kid for argument sake) rallies strong and crowd go barmy in support. Just as the heel cuts Kid off for what we think is the final time, Kid grabs a desperate small package and with one second on the clock finally grabs a 1-2-3 (Kid). Bell rings, heel furious! He’s off down the ramp the “winner” but at the end of the match it’s Kid who’s name they’re chanting, earned crowds deeper respect, renewed confidence, seeds sown for rematch etc. A reminder in the words of Hogan “it doesn’t matter whether you win or whether you lose, the only thing that matters what kind of winner you are or what kind of loser you are.” And Kid is a valiant loser.
