At least 2 yellow cards equals a red, unlike the old FWA idea of needing 3 yellows to get a red. There is a way of doing this that could be entertaining. There are plenty of ways that you can make the way the teams are put together entertaining that can build some excitement. I'd be doing something like the IPL Auction as a way of getting the wrestlers assigned to the teams, that way you can tell people who the stars are by how much you say you are paying for each pick and you can build tension in your trams if you want to by having a higher priced wrestler lose a fall and thrower priced one call them a waste of money. We will have to see the two key things. Who is involved, and how much are the tickets I suppose. Quote

It's the kind of high concept thing that people outside of wrestling always think will be brilliant, and becomes incomprehensible to an audience immediately. They're introducing a really complex set of rules, but trying to market to kids and families, who for the most part are just going to want to see wrestling work the way it does on the telly and definitely aren't going to follow the league tables and point-scoring element of it. And good luck finding that many wrestlers happy to take multiple falls in under fifteen minutes! Quote

Unfortunately, it's already a bit muddled - Why are there only Americans announced by name for the show, for a British league? What group will Jake Hager wrestle for? Tickets are a fiver, or £25 for ringside. Not sure how that can be sustainable, but if the 2027 Yorkshire date is in Sheffield, fuck it why not! I think we'll find out before those dates come around whether or not this project will last. Quote

Say teams of 10 people that has to be made of 5 men and 5 women. Each match/show is made up of (say)5 matches. 2 men singles, 2 womens singles and wildcard match which could be anything from a mixed gender tag to a battle royal. Winner of the most bouts at the end of the night gets the 3 points. Allows for kayfabe "tactics", allows for variation in talent so were not seeing the exact same people constantly, storyline in-fighting is wrester A isnt getting game time and allows for bouts to be one sided if needed without ruining the final score. Reading that back, it obviosuly shows why I'm not a booker, but I think with a few tweaks it could be interesting¬ Quote

There will be a number of fans who will enjoy it, but if you look around at most UK promotions the audience is, as above, families looking to see what they see on TV. I don't want to see anything fail, but in this day and age where people's entertainment spend is getting less, and the inclination to actually get off their backsides when there is a premium product right there in their own homes at a click of a button away, it's a big ask. This could just be me, but I can't be arsed to learn a whole new set of rules - just give me what I know. It's wrestling., It doesn't need reinventing. This is the sort of thing I perhaps would give a look at on-line, but the thought of dragging myself out (plus the expense) immediately puts me off, as I imagine it will for a lot., The other thing, which sounds really terrible and I'm not trying to tar everyone with the same brush, is how long will it be before too many wrong 'uns get involved in it all. Kenny is a good lad and has had success with ITR live events and the magazine, so I reckon this, at the very least, has a shot. It's not for me, personally, but I hope it does well. Anything that can provide people with an affordable evening of entertainment and performers with another place to work is no bad thing imo. Curious to see what how it turns out. Quote

At least then you have familiarity with the talent, and brand loyalty to the company, to cut them a bit of extra slack when a complex idea gets introduced. Quote

I imagine in AEW it is pretty easy to put together Canadian, Western, Eastern, British, European, Japanese and Pacific teams. I actually like the idea, but just no confidence this will go well. Quote

Was quite fun at the time Cant say this is something Id normally be interested in, but the 'Glasgow' show (Glasgow in quotes as East Kilbride isnt really Glasgow, despite the postcode) is almost walking distance from me, and only £6 a ticket! Even if it falls through, I wouldnt lose too much sleep over that. Quote

So weird what happened with them, given their popularity. Quote
