Pretty much, yeah. 

I thought it was decent overall. They tried to make it fair and balanced but still left out/glossed over some major stuff. John Graziano wasn't mentioned once, for example. 

Overall, it's an entertaining overview of Hogan's career, but the 'Who is Terry and who is Hulk?' narrative got a bit tiresome towards the end. Some cracking archive footage and a great soundtrack, mind.

I don't know much about Hogan's health before he died or anything, but having just put this on i'd be amazed if he didn't know he was on borrowed time at the time of filming.

There's a really quite staggering melancholy to Hulk that i've never seen before, and that I don't think he'd be a good enough actor to put on.

I'm sure it'll be a puff piece as it goes on, but it's really taken me aback how down he seems.

There were rumours of issues with his kidneys and back doing the rounds back as far as during Covid so I'd not be shocked if there was some truth to that and he knew he was on the way out. Also Netflix seem to be big on the posthumous interview docs these days, what with that weird "Famous Last Words" strand they have, so I imagine they would have been keen if he was on his last legs.

The main reason Brooke isn't in this is because of some of the talking heads popping up for a pay day when they'd hate Hogan and talk shit on him at any other time, she didn't name her mum but maybe.

Either way, I'd rather be with Linda than Hulk "I hope we're not reincarnated as black men" Hogan.

I unashamedly love the Hulkster as a character and have since1990. Terry is a different person to me and I proudly wear my Hulkamania will live forever shirt.

As such I enjoyed the documentary massively until it got to the Terry bits.

But my main takeaway was what a big headed twat HHH aka Cyril Sneer is.

'yeah I kept telling Vince it was just a nostalgia pop.....it'll be over in 3 weeks, don't put the belt on him' (not verbatim but not far off). 

With hindsight (at least his own) he could forsee every wrong decision Vince made with the Hulkster

Hogan's second autobiography, which I love because it's very funny and full of shit always cracks me up when he describes Linda as having long, defined legs like a horse, and from the way he's writing he means it in a positive way but I'm not entirely sure where he's going with that or what he's letting on.

Brilliant book, the bit in school where he talks about fancying this girl but he's embarrassed about his big fucking bowling ball of a head had me rolling. A very Partridgian read in a lot of places.

Completely unrelated to the documentary but I was just thinking a couple of weeks ago about how little impact Hogan's death has really had considering how much he once meant and how Hulk Hogan and pro wrestling were synonymous with each other for decades in the eyes of the general public.  I just had to Google when he died - it's not even been a year but you could have told me it was 2 and I wouldn't have questioned it given how everything moved on so quickly.  A real testament to just how badly he managed to destroy his legacy in those last few years.

I don't know about that, mate. Still see posts about him, clips, all sorts. Obviously this big documentary. They honoured him on all three of their major weekly programmes, and at SummerSlam, and on WrestleMania weekend. The whole world being a bit of a whirlwind now is probably more accurate.

Well, the entire documentary was what it was. It made me understand that while I do not love Hulk Hogan anymore, I love what he did for me. I wouldn't be passionate about wrestling if I never saw Hulk on telly in 1989. Then I'd have never discovered Stan Hansen, Bruno Sammartino, Jerry Lawler, The Four Horsemen, Nick Bockwinkel, Puro, dodgy back street lucha from IWRG (Black Terry vs Negro Navarro were ace), Titanes en el Ring from Argentina, He made me a fan, then I left him behind.

Closure.
