Given that it says that it is his story “in his own words” you can guarantee it’s going  to be our Tezza telling a load of old porkies but he told them for so many decades that I’m sure he started believing most of them and we wouldn’t want it any other way brother.

It's a Netflix documentary so there's a 95% chance it will be entertaining and completely worthless as a documentary.

Honestly, the Chris Hemsworth movie should had of leaned into the Hogan Lies and then have a narrator call out the bullshit like Ron Howard in Arrested Development.

I watched the first episode, it was watchable but the main takeaway I had from it (apart from Bret briefly saying something positive about Hogan) was the way that during the section about how he got his character of an being ultra patriotic all American the music in the background was God Save the King / Queen rather than something stirring and American

I've heard this before and googled it years ago. There's an old US national anthem that was adapted from God Save The King apparently.

I watched the first couple of espisodes last night. It's entertaining and well made, but not exactly revelatory. Hogan comes across as more open and honest than he was in pretty much any other televised interview he ever did. There was a lot of 'my dad thought I was a joke and wrestling was silly, he always liked my older brother more' and stuff about his ego getting way out of control. Not too much bullshit (yet) about how he worked 400 days a year and could have been in Metallica etc.

There were some funny bits, like when he mentions 'running hard' with 'the drug stuff' and it immediately cuts to a close-up of a smiling Jim Neidhart. There's some weird stuff, like footage of him playing with his kids, which is meant to be sweet, but he's wearing a fucking thong swimsuit during it. Oh, and there's an extended Ultimate Warrior burial, which I thought was funny since everyone did the whole 'He wasn't actually that bad, RIP Warrior' routine shortly after he died. He gets both barrels in this.

I skimmed it - my favourite part was when the subtitles had Hogan saying, "if anyone wants a free beer, give me a Hacksaw Jim Duggan "hello!"

Tickled me. The idea all those years, Hacksaw was raising his plank with a very welcoming "hellooooooooooo!"

I've just started episode four. Predictably most of this so far is stuff folk on here will already know, interspersed with Hogan bullshitting from a chair, family videos and talking heads. Bret being Bret is a highlight as is the previously mentioned burial of Warrior and Russo. Ventura is great although no mention of Hogan putting the kibosh on a union. Also popped for Werner Herzog turning up and footage of Hogan in his 1999 baggy jeans outfit. It's all fairly rose-tinted, glosses over a few things, briefly shows footage of the Shawn match at Summerslam 2005 with the narrative of "Terry was getting old" and not "Terry was an old politicking cunt".

A personal highlight is home video footage of him at a restaurant with his arm round Linda and he's cutting a promo to camera about how he's the world's greatest wrestler, how he made Vince millions and with the most perfect timing ever you hear a voice say "And yes, we're here for Linda's birthday" and it zooms out and it's clearly a party for Linda that Hogan is making all about himself as someone walks in with a cake.
