Merry Christmas y'all

Very much like HHH, I'm incredibly reluctant to step into the spotlight, but in the tradition of allowing myself to get soppy once a year, I very much wanted to take the time to say thank you to you all.

This place has often been a fun distraction, a strangely heartwarming and funny part of the Internet that feels like times gone by. Yet this year, which many of you know has been an incredibly challenging one, I've been reminded of how many decent and supportive folk there are out there.

Despite the fact I've never met any of you, your kindness and generosity in the darkest times losing my son meant that I had a place to disappear into for a while on a daily basis. I've been very isolated in my own life and struggled with family and people but here I felt like I could just laugh at stupid stuff for a while, learn more about wrestling, sandwiches, video games.. anything!

It has genuinely kept me going and given me something to focus on, so I'll never forget that.

Wishing you all the best Christmas and New Year, and I hope this time next year I'll be writing something brighter and positive. Go hug your friends and family tight or kiss a photo of Hangman.

Cheers, lads. Thanks for keeping me sane for over twenty years on this place and especially the last 12 months. 

@DavidB6937 - I can’t begin to imagine how tough this year has been and I know Christmas will be another huge hurdle, but for you to be dealing with this in whichever way is most helpful shows incredible character and strength. Be proud of how you’re taking each day.

Collectively, this place seems to have its members backs and long may that continue. I hope you all have a safe and happy festive period.

It’s the first Christmas for me in which my toddler daughter is really aware of what’s going on, and why she should be excited - she enjoyed last year but it just came about like any other day. This year…well, it’s 11.30 as I write this and she’s still very much awake…

That said, I’m just as excited as her, I can’t wait to see how she reacts to everything tomorrow morning. I understand that Santa has just been, and I’ve been reliably informed that he had a bastard of a time putting her new kitchen and cozy coupe car together. Better him than her mum and I though, eh?
