Just 1950 and 2010. One World Cup semi final in 76 years for a the players they've had is insane. Several really good games like Iran/NZ, Brazil/Morocco, USA/Paraguay, Belgium/Egypt and Australia/Turkey and a couple that took a while to get going but then delivered like Holland/Japan and Saudi/Uruguay. The Spain game was shit quality but an incredible story. Germany/Curacao was fascinating. Probably forgot some more too. The football had to deliver because everything else about it is depressing but it has so far. Quote

I'm fairly certain he was trying to be funny (failing miserably of course) when he said that, he said it with a slight chuckle in his voice if I remember and it was well documented that they were both struggling to make the game that he would had to have known that if he did just 1% of research. Talking of pundits who are we all enjoying so far? Juan Mata is pretty good and Big Dunc is fine, that segment with Wyclef last night had the potential to go off the rails but they kept it on track with him Psyching out Dunc on Live TV a highlighd and Karen Carneys face when he said " England always find a way to F it up" was pretty funny and I can imagine the director was ready to pull the plug but he kept it PG. Oliver Giroud is a pretty decent analyst but it's taking him several seconds to translate what he wants to say in his head which is constantly leaving seconds of silence as you can see him thinking and the other 2 guests and whoever is presenting all sitting awkwardly as he gets to the point.
