This BBC spoiler thing is weird, clear and obvious spoilers in the thumbnails but they haven't even got a report or updated the live table for the Turkey/Australia game.

It's almost as if they can't be arsed staying up in the middle of the night.

Yeah, a really dreadful performance, and I can't see much positivity for the next two games, but the results the most important thing.

Not sure 3 points will be enough, it might be but the goal difference matters. Had Scotland come out with a three goal win I'd be quite confident.

I got up this morning looking to catch up on the Australia highlights and neither BBC nor ITV had anything on their streaming that even indicated that they had played at all! Poor form.

Edit: Apologies for the double post!

I reckon Brazils winning the whole thing, although I don’t know why exactly.

Or maybe not.

I watched highlights on ITVX around 8am for Australia game. Didn’t see it on iPlayer so assumed it wasn’t on until today then read spoilers before remembering ITV was a thing.

Argentina lost their first game at the last World Cup and still won it. I still remember Italy losing to Ireland and somehow shithousing their way to the final.

Definitely didn't expect an Aussie win there but well deserved, Turkey were one of those outside bets to go far weren't they?

I've been catching more highlights than full games so far, luckily not paying attention to the YouTube thumbnails and haven't been spoilt quite yet. Fingers crossed.

Patrick Beach in the Aussie goal, give yourself a pat on the back. Turkey had 30 shots, 8 on target, he was equal to everything. Australia had a strong defensive line so Turkey were shooting from distance a lot and broke on the counter for the 1st goal. Turkey looked to get something with a draw but Australia hit them again for 2-0

2 lovely goals in the Morocco/Brazil game. You've got Gabriel & Marquinhos, 2 CL final CB's and they got split open pretty easily with a lovely pass from Diaz. Great finish as well. There's something about this Brazil team and it doesn't excite me, they don't look very cohesive and a bit ordinary. Maybe it's the European influence of Ancelotti, not sure...

Let’s not forget Argentina making a final in 90 despite a literal battering by Cameroon in their first outing.

Brazil were so disappointing. It started with that atrocious shade of yellow and the team looked a pale imitation of a Brazil team too.

Never mind "One more year, Casemiro", Brazilians must be hoping he hasn't got one more game. Lucas Paqueta as their playmaker is the saddest indictment of a once great team there is. He was fucking woeful.

Switzerland missing 50 chances, only scoring a penalty and conceding a late equaliser to Qatar absolutely summed them up.

Australia and Turkey was a nice class of styles. Turkey were dominant but wasteful while Australia were uber-efficient, dug in well and broke with real threat. The keeper was outstanding, as Rossman mentioned.

The Scotland game bored me back to sleep. Saw the highlights and they were very fortunate Pierrot - wasn't he in the 97 Royal Rumble? - planted that header wide.

Looking forward to both games this evening. Germany will smash Curacao but it's an interesting games. Holland/Japan looks a genuinely great prospect.

Only 4 3rd placed teams go out at this stage so Scotland have given themselves a chance like, you'd imagine 1 or 2 of the other 3rd placed teams might not get to 3pts.

Brazil and Morocco both beat them comfortably mind on tonight's evidence, so may well come down to goal difference, either way it'll be last 32 at best which id imagine Scotland would take.

8 3rd places go through.
