Yellow and blue Hulk… Red and white Hulk… Blue trunks Hulk… Black trunks ‘added workrate’ Japan Hulk… White only Hulk (typical racist)… Yellow but with blue kneepads Hulk… Final form 80s Hulk… Obviously there’s a few more early variations and I never even bothered with the NWO and long tights era but, yeah, Hogan liked a bit of colour mixing with his gear. No WAY Hulk could beat this guy but, he's Hulk Hogan! He has to, right!? Just like that, I was hooked. In with both feet. Intravenous line straight into my veins. Done. Never looked back. Didn't see Survivor Series 1991 for years afterward but even now I still remember the hype for it. Hulk was a comic book superhero come to life. As has been said, very few can claim to change the business yet Hulk did it twice. A genuine icon. Sad times. Quote

His wrestling career effectively finished with him getting booed out of the arena on Monday Night Raw. For those sad, you have my sympathies. But that last decade or so tarnished my feelings of him. People were at it online just the other week too because Mo Salah’s tribute to Jota wasn’t posted online quick enough for them rather than, you know, just let the guy grieve. Other completely unrelated teams fans were tweeting their clubs criticising if they hadn’t put a tribute up before any other posts as if it was the worst thing their club had ever done. It was the same when Liam Payne died, there was chat about how the One Direction guys individual tributes weren’t up quick enough. A crock of bullshit quite frankly and if people or companies want to post a tribute then they can. If people or companies don’t, so what. Quote

Best thing about Demolition is they seem like the complete opposite of nuts in real life, despite the gimmick. Every interview I’ve ever seen of them, they seem like the most likeable, chilled and laid back old Grandads. Just good old Bill and Barry. Paid Members JLM Posted July 25, 2025 Paid Members Posted July 25, 2025 (edited) My cousin had a friend growing up who used to yell his own commentary whenever he saw wrestling on TV or whenever we played WWF Royal Rumble on the Mega Drive. He wouldn’t do it constantly though, he’d sit in silence for long stretches, then he’d assess the scene and would call it out. It would usually be the wrestler’s name at the top of his lungs, then their current status. For Royal Rumble on the Mega Drive it would be entrances and eliminations: ”PAPA SHANGO!!!!!! is IN!” “SHAWN MICHAELS!!!!!! is DOWN!” It used to jump scare us and, over the course of a Rumble, it got very annoying. It was definitely memorable though, as it entered the family lexicon and saw routine usage. Hit someone with a red shell? “LUIGI!!! is DOWN!” Someone dropped something? “YOUR PHONE!!! is DOWN!” So funnily enough my first thought when I saw this news was to send “HULK HOGAN!!! is DOWN!” to my cousin. Absolutely cackling to myself as it’s rare for the universe to give me such a perfect set up. Thanks for that Hulkster. In terms of how I feel about it, I was an Ultimate Warrior kid growing up, so his passing hit me in the childhood more than this one. Savage’s too. I had less attachment to Hogan in that sense AND he really was a scumbag. Definitely an icon and definitely a hugely significant passing, but not one that has hit me very hard. It’s been interesting to read the whole spectrum of responses in here and all the different things he meant to different people though.
