Apparently so. I only remembered him getting the chop after the CL exit. Didn't even realise that was his second season. Anyway, I think the point still stands, albeit off the back of his Spurs run.

Something I was thinking of last night. They talk about the "Big 6" clubs these days. Who do you think has played for most of them? The best I could get was 4. I think Anelka and Sterling have played for Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Man City. Was thinking of anyone historically would have more, perhaps from when City and Chelsea were second tier clubs but I can't beat 4. Anyone do better?

Clive Allen played for us, Arsenal*, Man City and Chelsea.

Yeah, Spurs are one of the big 6, in revenue anyway! The "Big 6" thing has mainly come about in the last 10 years because of the clear difference in revenues and consistent CL qualification.

Clive's a good shout. Played for most of London.

Sterling's had a really impressive career in that his entire senior career has been spent only at Big 6 clubs.

Clive played for 8 London clubs, and Rashers is right, he didn't play competitively for Arsenal. Can anyone name the rest. No googling allowed.

Is Amorim just waiting to get paid up? He said in a press conference yesterday, even the Pope won't make him change his 3-4-2-1 formation. If he changes formation, it will undermine him in the player's s eyes. 

The players he's got are not going to miraculously fit the positions he wants them to. And he spunked all transfer funds on a forward line and none in defence or holding midfield. Just weird how he only plays one formation. Not every opponent is going to play the same way. Hence why they're getting outplayed by Grimsby and scraping wins against Burnley.

The formation thing is overblown. It’s literally just starting positions once the ball is in transition either way it’s not like they’re stood rigidly in lines or they’re not meant to be at least. They just need smart players and the right players. Liverpool were at their best under Klopp when they had Milner, Henderson, Gini and Fabinho all doing variations of the same job in midfield. Same with Mo, Mane and Firmino. They all had their positions but they could all play anywhere across their third of the pitch.
 

He’s definitely forcing a few square pegs in round holes and they had a big window to address some of that and they still have their most creative productive player sitting alongside a defensive midfielder and their brightest young attacking player in years playing wingback. Cunha is good but why spend the best part of £70m on him to play him where you should be playing your best player. Spend the cash on Baleba and let Bruno shuttle between exploiting space.
