Paid Members gmoney Posted September 21, 2025 Paid Members Posted September 21, 2025 If you can get a reputation for being thick in football that is really something extraordinary. Quote

I remember Razor Ruddock telling a story about how thick McAteer is. Razor said that he has always wanted to meet Jimmy White and one day he was in a pub with McAteer and Jimmy White walked in. Before Razor could say anything McAteer turned to Jimmy White and shouted "JIMMY WHITE ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY" and Razor was so embarrassed he couldn't speak to Jimmy, who just looked confused and got himself a drink as far from McAteer as possible. Paid Members Wretch Posted September 21, 2025 Paid Members Posted September 21, 2025 Can’t remember where I read it now, but McAteer locked himself out of his Porsche one night. When a mate told him a coat hanger could be used to pick the lock, he returned with a wooden one. Quote
Paid Members mim731 Posted September 22, 2025 Paid Members Posted September 22, 2025 (edited) I met Jason McAteer backstage at a show recording for RTE about 17 years ago, he was really nice but yes clearly not the brightest. As an aside, I also shared a ham and cheese sandwich with Antonio Carluccio that day, nice bloke in fairness. Weird day, that. Edited September 22, 2025 by mim731 Spelling (not witchcraft) Quote

It was bugging me where I'd heard that coat hanger story above and found it on Youtube this morning. It's exactly 8 minutes into this: The whole video is worth a watch. Great seeing it again after all these years. Quote

Members SuperBacon Posted September 26, 2025 Author Members Posted September 26, 2025 A reminder that football clubs can still get some things right. I'd urge you all to take 8 minutes out of your time to watch. Trigger warning obviously. Quote
Paid Members Lion_of_the_Midlands Posted September 27, 2025 Paid Members Posted September 27, 2025 As a Millwall fan it's always nice to see West Ham in turmoil. Just a shame Graham Potter couldn't last a bit longer, really drop them in the shite. Goodbye Graham, we hardly knew you. Quote

I watched the Brighton one instead, which was very good. https://youtu.be/atrtoMid9vE?si=Sa6JgcmAnPaVWwFm EDIT: Not that I wouldn't watch the Spuds one, just don't fancy watching multiple suicide prevention videos. Because it's pretty heavy as a subject. Edited September 27, 2025 by mim731 Extra info/reply Quote

They recently put one in near me and also had a fundraiser for more benches. It's really taking off now and I love how they remember Jay now 'he gave up his life to save others' Quote
Paid Members Nexus Posted September 27, 2025 Paid Members Posted September 27, 2025 #angeout It is not an improvement on Nuno, and he's a cunt. Our defensive abilities from set pieces have returned back to Cooper-esque, and it's very, very disappointing. Quote
Paid Members Wretch Posted September 27, 2025 Paid Members Posted September 27, 2025 Got a proper wave of nostalgia there hearing Forest boo’d off at full time. Thanks for that boss. Quote
Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted September 27, 2025 Paid Members Posted September 27, 2025 I think there's enough evidence to suggest that Postecoglou is just not very good by now, surely. Quote
Paid Members Wretch Posted September 27, 2025 Paid Members Posted September 27, 2025 The boss man won’t stand for this as long as the Spurs gaffer did, thankfully. Marinakis isn’t shy at swinging the axe. Quote
