Same way people don't like AEW because of Excalibur on commentary. Which is similar to my feelings on McAfee (current day version) on Raw and Booker T on NXT. They really grate on me.

I’ve maintained a clean timeline almost entirely free of modern wrestling but I faltered momentarily yesterday and since then the algorithm had deigned to bless my feed with a deluge of streamers showing their “shocked” reactions to the turn in the most cynically performative ways possible. Almost exclusively supposedly grown men in their 30s and 40s debasing themselves while auditioning for a cameo in a slick WWE package. I instantly regret being intrigued by a recent happening in wrestling and will now revert back to exclusively caring about pre attitude era wrestling only and can only hope the algorithm will forgive me.

Iyo will get thrown in to make the Mania title match a triple threat I reckon(she’ll take the pin), possibly some shenanigans with Cargill/Naomi/Belair to be involved tonight.

I realise Iyo’s facing Rhea tonight but that 3 way stare down after the match had me come to that conclusion.

I've not been too high on this, which is probably more about where I am in my fandom than about the quality of it, but the more I sit with it the more it feels like this might have been the only time they could really do it. Through his run on top you had a vocal audience segment that wanted him to turn heel and would have cheered him as soon as he did. But now the John Cena Retirement Tour, his last run around the spotlight after the years have softened that audience and they're ready to cheer him into the sunset. A Cena heel run now, if he goes full bastard, changes up his match style to hold back from the big stuff they'd want to cheer, could be the one way they can turn the pops into legitimate boo's.

I'd be more interested if it didn't involve Jericho-era Rock, but it's got me rotating it in my mind a little.

My point was that since ECW most crowds have been disingenuous and annoying. I also find them annoying and I can understand it been off putting. Most crowds these days spend more time trying to get themselves over than paying attention to whats going on in the ring. Simplement Deux!

Only watched the main chamber as I can't be arsed with the rest, or listening to Cole and that twat McAfee, but the match and Cena's heel turn after were fantastic. Even typing that sentence seems weird, never thought I'd see it happen. Dead-faced bad guy Cena is scary as feck already too. Hopefully, he starts wearing the giant, ill-fitting suits and changes his entrance, wrestling gear etc from tonight onwards. I'd love if he started plugging some hair replacement brand too, just for the craic.
