Yeah, it felt sleazy, right out of the Attitude era, although MJF is meant to be a scumbag so it does fit his character I forgot to mention earlier, does anyone think there is anything more to the cosplay Don Callis in the crowd? Escalibur has mentioned there is one in the crowd for a few weeks now and it seems odd he keeps bringing it up. Quote
Paid Members ReturnOfTheMack Posted April 17, 2025 Paid Members Posted April 17, 2025 100% agree Kam! It's felt oddly forced by commentary, like when Kip was in the crowd under a paper bag... Quote

Honestly though I didn't miss the Bucks before and I wouldn't miss them if they fucked off for good. If losing them meant losing Hangman Page, I’d say keep them around. Otherwise I agree, they’re not adding to the quality of the show anymore. People (rightly) shit all over the Death Riders, but The Bucks’ current characters are infinitely worse. Quote

The crowd there booing and groaning when they rocked up last night then Swerve immediately coming out of nowhere and wrecking them both was hilarious. I do think they still have a few great matches left in them. A Hangman/Swerve Vs Bucks with everyone going all out could be absolutely insane. Quote
Liam O'Rourke Posted April 17, 2025 Posted April 17, 2025 Kenny/Hangman/Swerve Vs. Okada/Bucks is surely incoming which will be delightful as well. Rewatched Ospreay/Takeshita. I feel they should just cancel WrestleMania after that. Quote

They’re still excellent in ring, it’s more their characters that I find unwatchable at the moment. That could change with a reset, but to me, the shows became much better after they disappeared. Mr_Danger Posted April 18, 2025 Posted April 18, 2025 As out of time as MJF human trafficking some white women to the Hurt Syndicate is, that face with the eye brows he did whilst he was letting them in to the ring is going straight in the gif library. Quote
digforvictory Posted April 18, 2025 Posted April 18, 2025 (edited) Collision wasn't as good as Dynamite, very very tough act to follow, but it was still a very enjoyable 2 hours . I really liked the Death Riders selling the loss from Wednesday , made it feel even more important and consequential a defeat. They've dominated the product for months but it does feel like we're now at the beginning of the end for them and they're all freaking out because of it. I like when wrestlers sell big defeats as big defeats. Another very entertaining backstage segment with Ricochet on the show, imagine being able to honestly say that a year ago, and him vs Kevin Knight should be a great match. I assume that's where it's leading to anyway. All the matches on the show were good I thought, in particular I really enjoyed Lance Archer vs Knight. Archer is pretty underrated I think, he always has good matches and he's a good credible monster to beat even though he loses most of the time anyway. All in all AEW managed to continue the feelgood factor. Been a good week for them! Edited April 18, 2025 by digforvictory Quote

I guess that they didn't want to air opposite Wreslemania but they would have been fine I'm sure as night 1 of Wrestlemania has no main event and people will only be watching on Sunday. Quote
Tennessee Moltisanti Posted April 18, 2025 Posted April 18, 2025 I've just watched Dynamite, and holy hell, that was an unbelievable show!! I was a bit drunk the other day and I was sure I saw that Ospreay had won, but that match had me going insane. Same as the last time. The next time will be even better. I don't think there are 2 better wrestlers on the planet, than Ospreay and Takeshita. Probably not a duo that have better in ring chemistry than those 2 either. They both look like real life superheroes whenever they wrestle. Mercedes Vs Athena was lovely stuff, they held so much back and they know they will tear the house down on PPV soon. Mercedes Vs Toni Storm tease at the end, unreal. Put that on All In please, Tony. That closing stretch of the main event was brilliant, loved Swerve's cameo, Nana going crazy, the fans just losing their shit. And then Joe wins!! Brilliant celebration to close the show. Ospreay, Swerve, Nana and Willow popping champagne bottles, this generations version of Bret Hart being lifted on the shoulders of the babyface locker room at Mania 10. Wholesome, pro wrestling. I hadn't considered Kenny being in this match, and now I'll be disappointed in anything less - him as the buffer between Hangman and Swerve would be far better than Hangman and Swerve agreeing to work as a tag team. Tim Healys Chutney Spoon Posted April 18, 2025 Posted April 18, 2025 Did chuckle when the wife said 'Has Ospreay come out in a shower cap?' Quote
Paid Members LaGoosh Posted April 19, 2025 Author Paid Members Posted April 19, 2025 Lance Archer vs Kevin Knight was a surprisingly great match. Well worth a watch. Decent follow up to Wednesdays banger. Joe is so great he's made Mox instantly more interesting to watch just by association. Quote
Merzbow Posted April 19, 2025 Posted April 19, 2025 I hope they don't lose focus with Kevin Knight, there's a lot of potential there and I'd hate to see him get lost in the shuffle when a new toy comes along. Quote
