Vince was as thin skinned as a 93 year old leprosy sufferer. Everything was a challenge to him, even sleep. Vince was entirely happy to have Chris Jericho as a guest on Stone Cold's podcast while he was under AEW contract and let him talk about AEW at length. I genuinely don't think he saw them as a threat or was bothered by them at all. Triple H on the other hand seems to have a vendetta against AEW and uses every opportunity imaginable to take digs, has an army of podcasters and paid bots on the company payroll whose main job is to shit on the product, counter books against every AEW PPV he can to the point that AEW have to hold off announcing venues till the last possible minute. AEW have taken their digs at WWE and it's been pathetic and annoying but Triple H in particular clearly has it out for them. Quote

Probably because one of their wrestlers took a sledgehammer to a throne in the middle of their first show. Can't imagine HHH ever getting over that. Quote
digforvictory Posted April 17, 2025 Posted April 17, 2025 Absolutely fantastic episode of wrestling in front of a red hot crowd in a lovely looking venue. Can't ask for more than that really. I do think AEW business is slowly ticking up anyway but just purely on vibes this is the best I've felt about AEW for years. There's a real positive feeling around the entire company at the minute. I really enjoyed all the matches and it seems to sum up the way AEW are acting now that on the episode they went past Nitro they didn't waste any time making any shots at Bischoff or replying back to the stupid shit Nick Khan was saying. They just put on a great show and ended it with a feelgood babyface victory. Loved it! Quote
Liam O'Rourke Posted April 17, 2025 Posted April 17, 2025 (edited) HHH was tasked with killing AEW with his pet project NXT, and AEW annihilated them to the point they switched days and HHH and his entire crew was basically forced out. It was only the miraculous call to the Wall Street Journal that got HHH back in, but considering how close he came to losing everything he thought he was going to get, I'm not surprised AEW gives him chills still. Echo the consensus - that was one of the best wrestling television shows in recent memory. Edited April 17, 2025 by Liam O'Rourke Quote
Paid Members Lion_of_the_Midlands Posted April 17, 2025 Paid Members Posted April 17, 2025 @LaGoosh let's stop talking about HHH and concentrate on a phenomenal episode of Dynamite. Ospreay is now at the point where he can have a good match with even an average opponent, but Takeshita is far from average. I loved pretty much every second of that. Both of them need to be fighting over the World Title let alone in tournament seni finals. The last match was great as well. Finally some real payoff to the Death Riders reign of terror. I'd say it also immediately elevated Joe back to World Title contender status, so another one gunning for Moxley. Quote
Paid Members Supremo Posted April 17, 2025 Paid Members Posted April 17, 2025 (edited) Will Ospreay’s the guy, isn’t he? I know it’s not news, but fucking hell. He’s the one. No point fantasy booking anyone else at this point. He’s winning the belt from Moxley at All In, then defending it in London at Forbidden Door. Maybe against Omega, coming off a victory against Okada, as Kenny continues to try and unify all the belts? It speaks to how much he’s grown in character and at talking that I think Will would be a home run doing press over here with the belt. Get him on breakfast TV and Radio One, bruv. What a turnaround. Last year, when faced with loads of criticism, Tony threw a wobbler, flushed everything down the toilet and aired the Punk footage. This time, he casually put on the best pro-wrestling TV of the year. Other quick thoughts. - Another incredible venue. Delete all the contact details you have for NBA arenas. Never ever go back. - Promotional malpractice hiding Athena behind a pay wall for years. Phenomenal opener. - Hangman Page vs. Will Ospreay in the Finals? Good lord, that’ll rule. - I can’t even explain the squeal of delight that involuntarily left my mouth when Ospreay and Takeshita traded kick outs at one. If this is killing the business, I’ll take it. - I love that Swerve outsmarted everyone and looked cool as fuck. Immediately rehabilitated. - I don’t know how they get to Christian reuniting with Cope, but I can’t wait to watch. - She’s the best there is, the best there was, the best there ever will be. Look at how happy she is! Absolutely buzzing my tits off, here. Might watch the whole show back later. When it peaks, AEW is the best pro-wrestling promotion of all time. I think it's quite smart. Maybe Tony knows he's got one shot with these ladies, gets them involved in something hot, peaks and then it's all downhill or off to take £7 an hour working for TKO. Having Athena locked in, doing something and just waiting to pop up and be incredible when a spot opened up in AEW is either fortuitous or genius. Amazing opener. Mercedes is incredible. I'm not sure I loved MJF channelling the Godfather, even though Sheltie B made it all work, but this was the only bit of the show I think I really disliked. It's not for me. Match was amazing otherwise. Two absolutely phenomonal workers. 4 hours ago, Supremo said: Absolutely buzzing my tits off, here. Might watch the whole show back later. That ending probably justifies keeping the belt on Mox if it's an indicator of the atmosphere at All In. I've had a few wobbles but TK has been steadfast, tbf to him and I think he's probably gonna get the reward. It's Ospreay. It was always Ospreay. Except when it was Swerve. Or Hangman. But nearly always Ospreay. Except when it was Darby. Or Kenny. But Ospreay. Always Ospreay. Quote
Infinity Land Posted April 17, 2025 Posted April 17, 2025 There's been saying Mariah May should leave becaue they understand the pattern when a wrestler falls out of focus of title booking in particular. Athena was fairly quickly lost in the shuffle after signing as online fans in particular were favouring Statlander & Willow. Taking the ball in ROH has been great for Athena otherwise i'm not sure where she would be now. I know people would hate it from a too many titles or matches not being good enough point of view. I do think the Women's roster could really do with a set of tag titles. It's just different from what we've seen in the last 6 years. The Athena, Billie Starkz, Lexy Nair grouping around a singles title never would have happened on AEW tv, but you could absolutely see it revolving around tag titles. There's been a few pairings over the years that would have had more memorable runs. Quote
Paid Members ReturnOfTheMack Posted April 17, 2025 Paid Members Posted April 17, 2025 Bloody Hell, what a show. Only minor criticism is it felt like a waste of Athenas unbeaten streak, but her and Mone really set the tone for the show! I may not enjoy the out of ring stuff, but Mone is consistently putting on top notch bouts. I am interested to see what happens next with Hook. Will them winning without him, and with his former teammate Hobbs, lead to a heel turn? Quote
Paid Members Kamran Posted April 17, 2025 Paid Members Posted April 17, 2025 (edited) Just to echo everyone else, that was a fantastic show! It doesn't feel like much effort has been put into Collision tonight (back at the same venue), but hopefully, they can keep that momentum going. They've sold approx. 1K less tickets for it however they didn't announce any matches for it until last night. Plus, we'll get to see just how crazy TK is... Edited April 17, 2025 by Kamran Quote
The King Of Swing Posted April 17, 2025 Posted April 17, 2025 Really good show. I've honestly struggled to care about the woman's tournament. Teasing Mone/Storm, immediately following the opener just made the whole thing feel redundant, to me. Good match though. Hopefully they have something planned for Athena. Osprey Vs. Takeshita was of course an absolute banger. Proper feel good ending. Honestly though I didn't miss the Bucks before and I wouldn't miss them if they fucked off for good. Only real low point imo, was the Hurt Syndicate/MJF segment. Thought it was rubbish. Quote
