I know he's a guy who's not liked personally or professionally even years after his death but you just don't get many guys like the Warrior and that's what made him special. Nobody else looks like him or had that aura. Even Sting, who's technically more versatile and well-rounded, didn't come off as a star like he did.

Whatever the opposite is of "Everything about this screams WCW in 1999", then this Nitro is surely it. Lots of things, when I think of 1999 WCW, happen in this which are not it; the great/classic entrance set, a massive crowd, Piper wrestling a match, the Nitro girls dancing, a real feel good finish which the fans went crazy for (the Piper winning the title finish, which I have absolutely no recollection of. But maybe one of the last ever WCW produced), a masked Rey Mysterio, Raven, Flair/Mongo wrestling together using a Horseman theme as entrance music. All of it just feels like the 96-98 era, and it surely is one of the last times before it transitions to the shit set/shit crowds era. Very interesting.

Good show that with the major frustration, not gone away after 27 years, being Goldberg pissing about with Bam Bam Bigelow, after pissing about with Scott Hall, and never satisfactorily kicking the fuck out of Nash and the nWo for robbing him of his streak.

The tipping point for the company is Superbrawl. Just everything about it is horrible. Flair v Hogan main eventing in 1999. Flair being a heel. Hogan being back on top. Everyone in the promotion with youth, talent and fan support being secondary to what was good three to five years earlier is a mess.

Doesn't Flair turn at Uncensored? I seem to remember the double turn with him and Hogan in the cage being a complete shitshow. Is it Superbrawl where David Flair under a balaclava costs him the match, because understandably he thinks it'll help him woo (pun intended) Torrie Wilson? It definitely feels like they were still holding on at Souled Out, I haven't watched it in years, but I seem to remember from when I was a kid that the Tazer/ladder match with Hall and Goldberg was pretty good.

Nitro having grey aprons and grey mats had to be a rib? It made it look even more old compared to the WWF. Though Hogan vs Flair getting higher ratings than Ausitn McMahon in 1999 is wild.
