Just noticed Wrestlefest 94 has been uploaded in full…

The VHS mostly remembered for being the only way for the longest time that you could see the incredible Bret & Owen vs Steiners match. I remember buying the tape years later just for that match and, even with the screwy finish, it was worth it. It’s a really nice collection of matches in general though. Macho Man vs The Model, 123 Kid & Marty Jannetty vs Headshrinkers, Undertaker vs Adam Bomb, Yokozuna vs Mr Perfect, Shawn Michaels vs Razor Ramon doing their thing without a ladder for a change and an early Bret vs Diesel match. Aside from Taker vs Bomb, has to be one of the strongest compilations from the Coliseum Video era surely?

Oh and as a WCW nerd I got a kick out of the music right at the start of the video because it’s the music Ricky Morton and Tommy Rich came out to at Starrcade 90.

This Tuesday in Texas added to the Vault, featuring in my view the greatest segment in WWF history starting at 18:58 until around 41:30. Incredibly dark and twisted by any standard, Jake the Snake is on another level as pure evil.

Had never seen Tuesday in Texas before. What a breeze! 

I sometimes forget how crazy over Bret was as IC champ - seems more over at times than at any point during his run on top - and Jake Roberts pretty much has two of the best promos of all time on one show.

I always thought I was a bit odd for being instantly drawn to Bret Hart, despite him just being half of a tag team at the time but, when you go back and see old shows, you realise he always had a load of love amongst the fan base. They clearly tested it in 1989 and Survivors 89 is a great place to see it as he gets a tremendous reaction.

I think it was the brilliant house show thread where the numbers didn't lie, and business dipped when HBK was champ and always picked back up when Bret was on top. Not hard to see why, looking back. I'm sure it's WWE revisionism or people unearthing "viral moments" in Shawn's wild selling, but Bret wore leather jackets and shades and carried himself like the coolest fucker in the world all the time. The amount of effort they had to put in to paper over Michaels' personal cracks to get him over as a face stands in stark contrast to Bret being able to pick things up and get people onside just be being Bret. Anyone claiming he worked a boring style hasn't gone back and watched the pops he got for chain wrestling, or understood the importance of that methodical pacing at the start to get himself AND his opponent over.

They did. Such a shame wrestling's history is being altered and censored. I know they had to do it or risk demonetization but, still...

Watched it last night. Absolutely fucking stunned to find that company have a line they won't cross. Can only assume a third party is in charge of the Vault.

On a lighter note from Tuesday In Texas, can you imagine a world in which they go with Ted & Barry as Money Inc? It's hard to imagine anyone dragging Ted down more than Rotunda but this is definitely one example. What a ridiculous combination. 

Oddly though, if when Repo was dossing about as Demolition Smash a few months before, Dibiase had hired him as muscle and he'd taken on a Diesel like look and role, that would have eventually worked well as a tag team. 

Maybe that means more IRS single's matches though so, swings and roundabouts.

Repo was misunderstood. Before his time. Get someone in the costume carjacking Teslas and he'd be the biggest babyface in the company.
