Everyone loves Steve McMichael now I think, but I have been a big fan for a long time. In the vein of big clumsy cloggers who are compelling because everything they do looks like it's going to fall apart and hurt someone (Ahmed, Goldberg etc). Can you believe they gave him a tombstone as a finisher and to my knowledge he never killed anyone? Very likable guy, even though he commentary was a bit shit.

I think he'd won a lot of people over already with his Raw and WrestleMania appearances. Just had a rawness, no pun intended, that was pretty interesting as a character.

Didn't Ryback actually have issues putting that move on bigger guys, too?

That makes it even worse! He can't even get them up on his shoulders just to let them fall, even with their help?

Max Moon- looked amazing. Fired stuff out his arms. Had a mask (automatically cool) and was MAX moon. It felt like he just disappeared; one week he was there the next he was gone. Amazing.

He definitely fucked it up with Mark Henry.

No, he didn't. He hit it perfectly after their match. Which to this day is one of the most insane booking decisions I can think of. Base the build of a match around whether Ryback can pick Henry up for his finish, then in the match he picks him up, Henry falls on top of his head for the lamest win ever. Then Ryback hits it spot on after the match. Henry looks shit. Ryback looks shit. A disaster.

Then the next night Ryback turns heel and instantly gets a title shot against John Cena. The booking was so bad back then.

Wow, I totally misremembered that!

I remember his debut as "The Komet Kid", then, next week, he was inexplicably Max Moon. As a kid, I thought he was ace, with all the rolls, flips, and highflying, and didn't understand why we didn't get to see more of him. Obviously, we know now why, but as a kid it was always something I low-key resented (the bit of me that already suspected or knew it was fixed) that the spectacular, fun guys never got to win, or didn't get a high profile.

Felt the same way with Owen Hart's runs in the New Foundation and Hi-Energy.

Are we doing boy stables? This thread reminds me very much of people naming their boy stables.

Sean O'Haire. When he had that Waterproof Blonde music, right after they'd stopped doing the "I'm not telling you anything you don't already know" stuff in his "devil's advocate" gimmick. He was decent in WCW as well, although how much of that was him getting stuck alongside Chuck Palumbo and Mark Jindrak?

I think that was Lord tensai he struggled with, but reports at the time were Albert sandbagged him,  the rematch  ended with a resounding win for ryback, finisher and signature meat or clothesline included

I remember being very invested in his “you’re welcome”/ Moppy mental breakdown angle. Bastard Raven put her through a shredder! I think that was the last time Saturn got a PPV match too.

He was in the 2002 rumble. I noticed it on cage match. I almost dont include the mopy gimmick as it was over and entertaining which made him less shit. Still loved mad moppy Perry though.

He went back to his home planet.

Matt Cardona / Zack Ryder for me. Extremely basic worker, and throughout his WWE run he always fell to pieces whenever a microphone went anywhere near him. I have always really rooted for him though, he's just a big kid living his boyhood dream (and now his teenage boyhood dream too). He looks to have come on a long way since his release, personality-wise, having worked so hard on his promos and character work on the indies. I would love to see him get a comeback run in the next couple of years, think he would surprise a lot of people.

Amazingly he was around for 6 months.  I bloody loved Max Moon as a ten year old.
