With Robbie E I quite enjoyed the Robert Stone/Chelsea Green pairing in NXT. Was very silly when he ended up in a match though. He was playing it like he was Bobby Heenan being forced to wrestle the Warrior, but he was absolutely shredded and quite clearly a pro wrestler.

Chilly Willy - Everybody's favourite hometown boy in ECW. One of the first wrestlers I saw when watching ECW on Bravo back in the day and just thought he was great and got a kick out of it every time I saw him.

Just went through this, he was better than I remembered!

I always enjoyed "the one". Billy Gunn, I think asthma and a perceived lack of mic ability stuttered him ever getting the IC belt back once Benoit "robbed" him. It was Billy gunn with a sleeper slam and the catatonic spinning sambo slam - and his theme music. Loved it. He should have won everything.

I've often said that I'm a sucker for absolutely anybody who worked ECW, with the exception of Jason Knight. Your Ulf Hermans, your Big Sal E. Grazianos, your Hack Myerses, your Brakkuses, I have a soft spot for every single one of them.

I don't think they're shit at all, but in terms of how much I love them compared to where the peaks of their career were in WWE, Spike Dudley and Tajiri are two of my all-time favourites.

Chalk me up as another Bull Buchanan guy and, really, the entire Right to Censor except Val Venis. Big fan of the gimmick, fan of Stevie, fan of Bull, and The Goodfather was an endearingly naff name. 

 

When I was a lot more involved with Channel Island Wrestling in Jersey, Robbie E emailed us looking for us to get booked. I thought there would really be something potentially fun in having a guy from New Jersey as a heel in Jersey, as pretty much everyone who lives there has a story or several about having to explain "no, not New Jersey" whenever they've told someone where they're from, and it's just easy heel heat. It never happened, he just wanted too much money for what we could afford at the time.

I started watching wrestling in late 2002, through Smackdown on Sky One. By mid-2004, things had gone to shit - and Heidenreich was part of the reason for that. I'm not sure the guy ever had a good match, and even Paul Heyman couldn't mask his limitations. This is one for me. I can't explain it, I'm fully aware he was not the best in-ring and he was on SmackDown at one of that show's low points. But damn it, I thought Heidenreich was great. There was just something about him. Dan Fitch even brought him over for a show in Newcastle on the night of WrestleMania 23. I absolutely cannot remember who he wrestled. But it was Heidenreich on the indies!
