AnotherCrapUsername Posted April 14, 2024 Posted April 14, 2024 Back in the day (early 2000s) when I was doing shows, I thought I was a "hardcore" guy (read wanker) thumbtacks not a problem, the worst was getting hit with a steel chair. On one occasion I thankfully got my hand up to protect myself (I know what a pussy) glad I did, I couldn't feel my hand for a few days afterwards. Quote
Donald J Trump Posted April 14, 2024 Posted April 14, 2024 In much the same way that police recruits are tased or pepper sprayed as part of their training, Wrestling fans of a certain type should be made to take a solid chair shot to the head. There are far too many that think it's akin to being hit with an ASDA Essentials baking tray, and I'm not sure they fully appreciate what they're seeing sometimes. Quote
Paid Members DCW Posted April 14, 2024 Paid Members Posted April 14, 2024 Or wrestlers could stop hitting each other in the head with chairs altogether. It is already rare enough on TV these days, thankfully. Wrestlers doing it on the indies or small part-time shows are utter idiots for still agreeing to do so. Quote
Donald J Trump Posted April 14, 2024 Posted April 14, 2024 Agreed. There's always going to be some risk, but there are easy ways to reduce it and this is an obvious one. Whilst they're unwise for agreeing to it, you have to also ask questions of whoever's putting this kind of expectation on them or allowing it to happen. I do shudder at some of the harm I've likely seen done over the decades when this was less of a consideration. Quote

If this was a Family Fortunes question, even if they asked a million people" Who would you like Rhea Ripley to face at Wrestlmania" our survey would say" Fuck off Foley ya fat melt! " And the ERR ERR noise for 0. Quote
Chili Posted February 19, 2025 Posted February 19, 2025 In fairness it makes complete sense in Mick's CTE Glinner esq defender of women riddled brain (without the other awful shit obvs), what people would want to see is one of the most popular women's wrestlers in the world, beating up a retired man who can barely walk who is approaching bus pass age in a sold out stadium. It's weird kink but it is Mick Foley. Quote
Merzbow Posted April 2, 2025 Posted April 2, 2025 (edited) I'm guessing he won't be wrestling any time soon.. luckily it was "only" a concussion but another one of those can't be good. Edited April 2, 2025 by Merzbow Quote

Paid Members Supremo Posted April 2, 2025 Paid Members Posted April 2, 2025 Maybe it wasn’t so silly when Hunter returned after a few weeks. It’s the type of accident wrestlers can walk away from with only a concussion! Quote
