What is the set-up on Peacock? Do they just have an entirely separate section for WWE?

Yes. Though it's the same format/organization as the rest of the site, so everything has to be treated as separate TV shows with "seasons" and episodes.

Just an FYI, some people have got excited about this, but it doesn't mean anything. Netflix's search database has always included stuff it doesn't have/has never had/has no plans to carry, presumably scraped for a DVD or movie database. It's all just to keep you on the site and you click on any of these and it just says "Soz, not got that, do you fancy The Big Show Show?"

I can see them carrying all previous WWE ppvs and raw smackdown..etc possibly superstars from the 90s but as far as wcw and ecw being on Netflix I'm hoping yes but I guess will find out come January

It'll be interesting to see how "select" the historical section is. I know on the free tier you used to get most of the previous installments of the coming months big PPV and a bunch of random episodes, hopefully it'll be more than that, but I imagine it's not going to be every Nitro from the beginning, ever ECW Weiss, TNT and the like. They'll probably siphon off some of the more problematic stuff (haven't they already taken the Piper match out of WM6?) but hopefully there's going to be a decent sized chunk of the stuff I always tell myself I should watch when I scroll through the network for an hour before just putting on Bottom or something non wrestling related.

I can see this as a way of them purging the difficult past of WWE/F

With so much that wouldn't fly these days, as well as the bigger Vince problem, this is the perfect opportunity to wipe out the majority of their history. With no more Network it's the perfect get out excuse of saying sorry, we couldn't move it all to Netflix. WWE have long had a history of re-writing history - this is just the next phase. Just in the same way that for years anything pre-1984 didn't exist.

Let's be honest, this Netflix deal is to attract new fans, not those who want to watch a 1986 edition of Wrestling Challenge. Hold onto those DVDR rips, there's going to be a lot lost to the dustbin of history.

Was expecting a separate sub price, that's really surprising. Excellent news, just better fix those live stream issues now please.

Sounds like the big problem is that a lot of what makes Netflix run smoothly (caching local data server copies of everything based on what's most viewed in that area so the video you watch doesn't physically travel as far) doesn't work with live broadcasts because obviously you can't cache it in advance. Fortunately they've got an NFL game on Christmas Day which is a pretty big incentive to fix things.

NFL is going to be bigger than the Tyson fight and RAW, and is something the US actually care about, so they really need to get it working.

Will they show any in 4K? Assume not for the live broadcast but no way I’m watching live anyways.

I really don't understand why people are panicking about this. Uploaders across the planet will be working overtime pulling everything off the Network before it closes down and stuff moves to Netflix. Nothing will be lost.

I’ve got a magical fire stick, so I really hope all the old PPVs and shows end up on there. I’m partway through a marathon of watching Raw from the beginning and the plan was to check out Nitro and watch the two shows in order, either until the shows became shit or I got bored. Whichever came first. For all its faults in recent years, the Network has generally been a godsend for me. I’ll be sad to see it go.

I hope you're right. So much of it has already been altered (musically, commentary etc) that genuine archive footage has already been replaced.
