Dr. Alan Grant Posted November 13, 2024 Posted November 13, 2024 Not Conway. It might not even be a Tim I’m thinking of. I’ve had a look on IMDb for various Tims and now the name Tim has lost all meaning to me. It doesn’t even look like a real name anymore. Maybe all the Tims are dead, maybe they never existed. I think I’m having an existential crisis because of the deceased Mr. West.
Paid Members gmoney Posted November 13, 2024 Paid Members Posted November 13, 2024 Timothy West is utterly brilliant in the criminally forgotten TV series Brass. Might break out the boxset this week.
Paid Members Surf Digby Posted November 20, 2024 Paid Members Posted November 20, 2024 Player of the iconic James Bond guitar riff, and possessing one of the coolest names ever, Vic Flick has passed away. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c39n2p4lplro Just like how John Williams' Jaws theme transcended the film and came symbolise sharks in general, that infamous guitar riff - in fact, just the sound of that guitar - became synonymous with spies and secret agents.

Paid Members Carbomb Posted November 21, 2024 Paid Members Posted November 21, 2024 Given the health issues he had, he did pretty well, I think. I was too young to vote or join a political party when John Smith died, but I was rooting for Prescott in the leadership elections, hoping that that spiv Blair wouldn't get in. RIP.
Abe_Knuckleball_Schwartz Posted November 21, 2024 Posted November 21, 2024 Sad news. RIP John Years ago, I worked for Royal Mail and on my delivery route. I used to deliver to his son, Jonathan (although then known as John) and he use to receive death threats, dodgy packages which all had to be screened. The idiots sending them thought that they were for John Prescott. Jonathan was a nice guy always had time for a chat and thoughts with him and the rest of the family
Merzbow Posted November 21, 2024 Posted November 21, 2024 I always had a soft spot for Prescott, seemed to be the glue between Blair and Brown and I obviously popped for those hands being thrown. Sad that he had to be an alleged sex pest though (I know I'm Lance Storming it but it can't be ignored).
SaitoRyo Posted November 26, 2024 Posted November 26, 2024 Jim Abrahams, writer-director of Airplane!, Top Secret! and Hot Shots! (among others) has died, aged 80. He was also one of the writers of Naked Gun and The Kentucky Fried Movie. Reports say he died in a hospital (it's a big building with patients in it, but that's not important right now). He actually died at home, but let a man joke, for goodness sake.

Paid Members Hannibal Scorch Posted November 27, 2024 Paid Members Posted November 27, 2024 That is sad news. Genuinely sad. Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue.
