Still off work for bereavement/mental health reasons and I've absolutely lost it at this point because I'm watching old videos of people going round defunct shops.

It started because I was sorting through photos and my dad used to own a photographic shop. And he was good mates with the person that ran Woolworths down the road and I'd always be there. Couldn't find the exact store but found a few videos of them from over the years.

 

Beyond the utter dullness of this, I genuinely enjoyed growing up as part of a high street community and it's something that's sorely missing these days with the Internet. I know we've had various memories about that on here before but yeah it was just such a nice vibe and places had a lot more meaning than they do now. It's such a shame to see what they're all becoming.

So yeah. The sheer amount of old videos on YouTube is incredible. It'll definitely keep my dullness going for a while.

and a guy that unclogs beaver dams in rural New England

I've taken to watching old TV station idents and advert breaks, so we're all in good company.

One day I'll make it through that 6 hour video of the live news feed from when Kennedy (Kennedy) got popped.

I was going to mention post10 in this thread, but thought it was going too far even for here. I've started greeting people with a "Hey everyone" in his voice in the mornings at work. Do you watch his other channels? I never thought I'd spend my evenings watching multiple videos of someone eating canned food from the1950's and talking about his wood stove.

A lot of this video is just 1970's British blokes pottering about and working on a remote lighthouse. It's all interesting stuff though. 

It also has an absolute bonkers bit in the first 5 minutes, showing how the blokes get on and off the lighthouse, that would even have Fred Dibnah going "fucking hell, hang on a minute".
