Sullivan was best known for his portrayal of Jimmy Corkhill in the Channel 4 soap Brookside between 1986 and 2003. "To millions he was and very much still is remembered as 'Jimmy', to family and friends he was 'Dino'. Dean's family wants to thank Arrowe Park Hospital for their unwavering and consistent support. We ask that you respect their privacy in their time of grief," a statement from Hamilton Management and his family said. He died peacefully following a short illness. Will never forget the first time I saw him performing on stage, at the 1995 Fleadh in Finsbury park. Usual thing of showing up with a fag in one hand, can in the other, then every other song would flip the V to off-stage, and a runner would come on with a freshly-lit tab for him.
