Can’t believe we have Wardlow go out there and powerbomb CM Punk a million times and there’s pages of discussion about the rollup finish. I loved it.
Wardlow will be a star and this didn’t harm him at all. He got fluke pinned by CM Punk after having the match won for ages because of MJF. It told a story, got Wardlow over and CM Punk of all people had to scrape a win off him.

Away from any of the men’s stuff on Dynamite, Serena Deeb came off as one nasty and vindictive bitch in that beat down on Shida, it’s a feud that didn’t really need a 4th match/angle and we’re now inevitably going to get a 5th when Hikaru returns but as it’s gone on Serena has gone deeper off the edge in wanting rid of her, purely because she lost what was supposed to be the rubber match

I don’t want to damage the thread again with my bullshit, but I think my issue isn’t this.

Of all the losers from last night (in my eyes), I agree Wardlow lost the least. But I was asking whether it was good to use Punk in this way at this point, or whether he looks worst than Wardlow looks good by taking this beating now (and by taking a backseat to a mid-card feud).

That said, Wardlow didn’t come out unscathed. He was on the verge of the biggest victory of his career and he didn’t go for it because MJF told him to. Plus, he hit Punk with 8 finishers. One through a table. And Punk wasn’t dead. I’m not sure that’s necessarily ideal.

But, at the risk of becoming a UKFF pariah, I want to remind everyone that I really like, in no particular order:

Bryan Danielson, Hangman Adam Page (yeah, I’m coming round), Jungle Boy, Adam Cole’s entrance, Jon Moxley, Eddie Kingston, Britt Baker most the time, Dustin Rhodes, The Acclaimed, The Varsity Blonde’s hair, Hook, Bryan Danielson again, Hook again, Miro, the fact they had no idea what to do with Big Show but signed him anyway, Jamie Hayter for reasons beyond the wrestling ring.

Basically, I’m not the enemy guys.

I cannot criticise anyone who steals so blatantly from the very best of all time.

The power of Bret. Even if you don’t think he’s right at the moment, just give it a month, a year, or even a decade or two. You’ll realise you were wrong and he was right. About everything. Always. Then. Now. Forever.

I don't think Punk looks bad at all after that, if anything this could and should be the catalyst that in my opinion he's really needed. While Punk is undefeated he has been taking things easy for the most part, he's been complacent compared to his former self and now that he's ran face first in to the future of wrestling he's fucked himself because of it. The few people like Kingston and MJF that have called him out on it have actually been right.

The way everything has half fallen off a cliff since Full Gear, I wonder if this company’s booking has become a victim of Hangman vs. Omega’s success. That hit so perfectly and was so critically acclaimed, sticking the landing so well, that I wonder if they’ve decided the future is in everything being this long, drawn out epic.

The pay per view still being months away is fucking terrifying. Do we really need twists and turns in every feud before we get to the match? I’m not going to give a single shit about Punk vs. MJF or Red Dragon vs. Young Bucks if we still have to wait March fucking 6th.

I’m willing to give them the benefit of the doubt on long builds since Hangman/Omega paid off.

There have been times when fans have booked AEW PPVs months in advance, only for things to play out differently.

I quite enjoyed it too! Wardlow looked great. But then, I also quite enjoyed Eddie Kingston getting Jericho’s face and I seem to be in the minority on that too.

PAC as Daredevil is something I didn’t know I wanted and now definitely want.

We will see some big matches at beach break end of the month. Then probably another dynamite special mid feb that’s sets up the ppv. And either a casino ladder or a tournament to mix things up….
