Three or four years ago, yeah. He might've got actual heat. Now though it's almost impossible to care. The guy's been a complete jobber since he got Shane O' Mac'd into oblivion.

I was all for Miz winning the title on the back of his feud with John Cena/Nikki Bella in 2017 rather than Jinder Mahal, he was doing career best work back then and would have been a great focal point for Smackdown. These days - partly down to his abysmal partnership with Morrison - he's completely unwatchable.

It’s typical WWE. Strike when the iron is ice cold. Miz peaked about three years ago and has gone steadily downhill ever since. He is not, “a fantastic heel,” in 2021. He’s now a mostly boring performer, at best generating that, “oh, just fuck off,” heel heat whenever he comes out and does his tired old shtick. Him and Morrison have been fast forward material for months.

A fantastic heel should make people want to watch him lose. Not bore or piss people off to the point that they change the channel. Wasn’t he recently in one of the lowest rated main event segments of all time?

Anyone who thinks Miz in his current form is a great heel must have fucking loved that time when Baron Corbin was on top. It’s the exact same energy. Working the marks~! to the point they just switch off. Well done.

I just can’t believe anyone would rate Miz as a supposed top heel when he’s literally just shared a show with Roman Reigns. The leagues of difference between the two is insane. You better hope the Tribal Chief doesn’t find out or else he’ll smash your head in with elbows.

The problem with The Miz and has and always will be the problem is that no matter how good his promo and character work is is that he's not convincing at all that he could beat up another wrestler. He's one of the least tough looking wrestlers they've ever had. So any story or feud is always a bit doomed because he's got to have the blow off match at some point and once the bell rings no one gives a shit. When he eventually winds down in ring he's going to be great in his natural position as an onscreen character/manager type.

It’s pretty bad that the best I can make of this absolutely fucking terrible situation is to think that somehow they transition into Daniel Bryan vs. Miz - AGAIN - for the WWE championship. Possibly with a ‘Career vs. Title’ stip.

It would not be a good situation, but it’d at least be better than whatever is looking likely after that show.

We are left with the geekiest of wrestling nerds. Everyone else has gone and don’t watch anymore. No one is paying for heels because everyone is winking along with the joke. Roman is going to be cheered like superman when crowds are back. Everyone laughs along with MJF and sings Chris Jerichos fucking awful song. Bad guys get cheered because they do cool moves or tell funny jokes.

And even if this weren’t true, Miz is a shite champion because he’s a geek that’s been presented as a geek and is absolutely worthless because of how he’s been used. No matter how annoying his promos are, no one is paying a penny to see drew kick him in the head.
