@Scratch do you still compete in the online driving games? The ones you posted videos of before?

I do, but mostly in the regular iRacing leagues rather than organised ones. My rig has seen quite a few upgrades since I last posted about it here and I actually find most enjoyment doing hot laps and trying to improve between ranked races.

I tend to compete less in the summer as it kicks up a lot of heat, and being immersed for hours on end isn’t the most comfortable of experiences. I found a clip of me being interviewed after a race a couple of years back and my first response was how badly I needed a shower having been sweating for 2 hours.

Playing Death Stranding 2.

It’s more of the same with added stuff to it, not that I’m complaining, I loved the first, finished it 3 times and got the Platinum.

I bought the first one when it came out and rage quit after about 15 hours because I fell down a cliff and all my parcels spilled everywhere. I sold the game the next day and have held a grudge against it ever since. But when I started to see footage from the sequel, I thought I’d give the first another chance since it was included on PS Plus. I’m enjoying it more this time around, even if I still get frustrated with the parcel delivery aspect of it and BT encounters that put me on edge. I’m assuming 2 is more of the same and they haven’t removed deliveries. I’m going to persevere with this one and see if I can finish it without throwing my controller at the wall. By that time, On The Beach might be reduced in price a little.

Finished up with Death Stranding 2 today.

The world map is probably bigger but it doesn’t feel like it is, the games more based on action this time round, still really enjoyable although I didn’t enjoy it as much as the first instalment.

Probably the best looking game I’ve ever played plus Luca Marinelli was great as a Solid Snake rip-off.

I play one, maybe two games a year. This years is going to be the new Tony Hawk Pro Skater remaster. I'm looking at it on Amazon and I'm a bit confused. I want it for Xbox one. This says Xbox one and series x. Probably a stupid question, but I'm assuming it'll work on both?

It might just be a digital code as I know Switch 2 are selling a box with a code digital inside.

I think it’s gonna be on Gamepass day one if that works out any cheaper for you.

Adam Cole has won me round recently as a wrestler. On his podcast, he’s been raving about the game Nine Sols, which I decided to give a try, and I might hate him again as a result.

It’s so, so hard. Unforgivingly so, much worse than any From Software game. But I persisted and got better - I’m now at the final boss, and I can’t decide whether to just give up and accept I’ll never beat it, or keep trying because I’ve gotten this far, and giving up this late would be very frustrating.

The final boss in this game is - in my opinion - the hardest video game boss ever. There are apparently three phases, but I wouldn’t know that if not for Cole’s podcast, because I’ve not been able to get past the second. And I’ve only barely scraped through to that a handful of times.

The worst Elden Ring boss(es) for me were the Godskin Duo. I didn’t enjoy that fight and got little pleasure when I actually beat it - I’d rather fight those pricks ten times in a row, than contend with this fucking boss again. Honestly, it’s so fucking brutal. So yeah, please give this game a go so you can understand my frustrations.

I’ve gone back to Lies Of P again and I can sympathise with the bastard hard bosses that Rooster mentions. I’ve made it to the last boss and he’s an absolute cock. Just spamming fast attacks over and over. I even dropped the difficulty down (I’m not proud of myself but I don’t care anymore) and he still wiped the floor with me. If Nine Sols is on PS5, I’ll give it a go. That’s if I ever beat this puppet wanker.

The worst thing about that boss was that there was an easy cheese to just use sleep potions but I was very much of the mindset "I haven't used them up to now, so fuck off am I going to use them just for these cunts."

That lasted until about the 100th time and then I roofied the cunts.

I’ve just finished Jusant, included in this month’s PS Plus freebies. See that big tower? Climb it. And that’s the game. The controls felt like the monkey contraption in Astro Bot. L2 to use your left hand, R2 for your right. Up and up you go, using pitons and swinging to reach the top. You’’re given a gelatinous blob for company too. Kinda looks like the Adipose from Doctor Who, and he has some special abilities to help you on your way. There are collectibles to find, including Cairn stones. Which thankfully are not as painfully annoying as those from Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. It’s a very short game, only a couple of hours. But when I had finished, I was left wanting more. Definitely the sign of a good game. It reminded me a lot of Journey, so if you liked that, you’d probably like this.

In a word…charming.

Started playing Journey to the Savage Planet today, really enjoying it so far. I do enjoy a sarcastic computer voiceover.

Finished Road 96. Fascinating game. In terms of basic gameplay, it's not especially interesting. In terms of everything else, it really is. The story and characters are so well drawn and I can definitely see myself going back and trying to get 100%.

Rally Arcade Classics on my Switch 2. Until Sega assign M2 to give us Sega Ages Sega Rally this is probably as close as we're going to get to it, but it goes a lot deeper as well. There are licence tests which are just mini stages, and once you've got a licence you unlock different events to earn stars and money. Money let's you buy new cars, stars let you unlock the next round of licence tests and events. The cars are all similar to but legally distinct from actual classic rally cars (the Mini Cooper is called the Kooper, for example). Graphically it isn't great, but it's a lot of fun and scratches the Sega Rally itch. It's only £8.99 as well.

Mind you that Sega Rally itch is also easily scratched with an Emulator.

Is it available on PS4?

Suoer Wooden GP looks to be good fun. They're also bringing out a Rally themed version. It'll have an interesting Super Special Stage feature.
