Paid Members Jesse Posted June 10, 2025 Paid Members Posted June 10, 2025 I'm guessing you're looking at about £500 - 600 for the base model, and £800 - 900 for the upgrade model (X). One thing to note is that afaik neither of them are OLED screens, which I think the Steam Deck has. Quote
The King Of Swing Posted June 16, 2025 Posted June 16, 2025 Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Future Redeemed (Switch). Finally giving this a real shot. This time I didn't make the usual mistake of playing through the main game first, and burning myself out. Really enjoying it but decided to bump the difficulty down, at a certain boss fight at the start of chapter 4. Aint got the time or patience for annoying difficulty/grind spikes, these days. Quote
Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted June 18, 2025 Paid Members Posted June 18, 2025 Finished Steamworld Dig 2 and just absolutely loved it. What a brilliant pair of games. I then moved on to Ori and the Blind Forest. It took me a while to really get into it but once I did I was hooked. The escape sections are stupidly difficult but otherwise the story and difficulty progression are really good and I'm looking forward to the sequel. Tried playing Overcooked. I've never been more stressed in my whole life. Can see the appeal but I've never played a game that is more anxiety disorder unfriendly. Not for me. Played a few hours on JellyCar Worlds. Fun idea, brilliant design and a nice thing to play although I never felt into it enough to play all the way through it. Could see myself dipping in and out of it. Now I'm on Unbound: Worlds Apart. Another metroidvania, this one is really difficult from the outset and the difficulty curve on the whole isn't great. Long stretches of relative ease and then suddenly a borderline impossible bit. That being said, there's not too much backtracking, the level design is excellent, and the use of portals to change the behaviour of sections and characters is a brilliant idea that works beautifully. Flawed but I'm largely enjoying it. Quote

The opening sequence in Ori gives me a lump in my throat in the same way the opening montage does in Up. It’s very well done. The sequel is also very, very good, but the original is still my favourite. On 6/16/2025 at 9:31 PM, The King Of Swing said: Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Future Redeemed (Switch). I’m glad you’re enjoying it, I thought the whole package was tremendous and that the base game was the best Xeno game by far. I also reduced the difficulty and if I’m remembering correctly, it was at the exact same point as you and likely, I suspect, for the same reason. Edited June 19, 2025 by RedTwoster Quote
Version1.0 Posted June 22, 2025 Posted June 22, 2025 Make the mistake of thinking I could pick up Raidou Remastered on release day... sold out everywhere. I've ordered online. Getting stuck into Gran Turismo 7. So peaceful. Quote
Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted June 26, 2025 Paid Members Posted June 26, 2025 I gave up on Unbound: Worlds Apart just before the end because it just became ridiculously hard. Having watched a YouTube walkthrough, I made the right choice. No way I was completing that. A shame, really, as I persevered with it longer than I normally would. Been playing Shank and it's a nice simple platform beat 'em up. Not sure I like it enough to play it to the end but I've enjoyed it. I started Road 96 today and I really like it. I've not really played a game like this before. I wish it was a bit more open world but it's different from what I've been playing and I'm really invested in the story and characters. Quote

It's a game I'm enjoying a lot even though I don't think any of it is actually that good. It's weird. I'm loving the combined package of the game but a lot of the individual components are pretty ropey. The stealth is undeveloped, often frustrating and simplistic for a game that is primarily stealth. The hand to hand combat is unsophisticated button mashing. The shooting is generally useless, completely ineffective and unsatisfying. For a game based on a series known for its exciting, action set pieces this game barely has any. The platforming/exploration stuff is basically just "jump from here to here". The menus/user interface are clunky as fuck. However it's all wrapped up with a beautiful sheen, great atmosphere, visuals, characters and story that have absolutely hooked me in. Finally finished this. Overall enjoyed it quite a bit but by the end I was groaning at every "hide behind a box, hit a guy from behind with a space" stealh segment and desperate to get it over with. Has maybe the worst boss fight I've played in years. Quote
Paid Members Scratch Posted June 26, 2025 Paid Members Posted June 26, 2025 I saw a random post somewhere-or-other about a new football games called Rematch. My interest was piqued further when I noted it was on GamePass and so I turned the Xbox on and gave it a go. It’s basically Rocket League but with actual footballers rather than cars. You play the same player for the entire game in third-person, in either 3v3, 4v4 or 5v5 matches against random online players. Maybe it’s because I really dislike Rocket League, but I absolutely hated it and it made me feel really sick - something no other game has made me feel before. Quote

It was getting decent hype pre-release for the Rocket-League comparisons you mentioned. Also thought it was rubbish. It looks shocking, the controls are confusing and the gameplay, similarly to Rocket League is in-fighting for who doesn’t have to play in goal all game. It’s came out about 5 years too late and is capitalising on the popularity of a game that nobody plays anymore. Edited June 26, 2025 by FLips Quote
Paid Members Scratch Posted June 26, 2025 Paid Members Posted June 26, 2025 The football game on the Switch version of Wii Sports, however, is great fun. Quote
Members SuperBacon Posted June 26, 2025 Members Posted June 26, 2025 @Scratch do you still compete in the online driving games? The ones you posted videos of before? Quote

Not played the prequel yet but will pick it up once I get the backlog down a little Quote
TildeGuy~! Posted June 27, 2025 Author Posted June 27, 2025 Playing Death Stranding 2. It’s more of the same with added stuff to it, not that I’m complaining, I loved the first, finished it 3 times and got the Platinum. Quote

Rocket League is constantly in the top 50 most played games in the world everyday on the Steam concurrent player chart. It often hits the top 20 still. Where are you getting no one is playing it anymore? That's not even talking other systems. I bounced off Rematch but I'm not really into online game anymore tbh, my nephew who is 10 and his FIFA/Fortnite loving mates are really into it atm. Once they start putting in daft skins like Ninja Turtles and Spiderman I can see it going mental. His main tip seemed to be get to lvl 5 in casual and then play ranked. You see people passing and playing positions properly then apparently. Edited June 27, 2025 by Cousin Jim Bob Quote

Nobody I know personally has played it in years so I assumed the game had faded away. Glad the kids are still enjoying it though, it was big back when we used to do birthday parties in the gaming arena. Quote
