Members SuperBacon Posted May 6, 2025 Members Posted May 6, 2025 Should've heard the whinge off my youngest when I told her about the delay. I reminded her she shouldn't even be playing it! That trailer and the game look and sound so meh, but I have no doubt it'll be good. Its just a shame that you know they'll never take a massive era/time setting risk again as that's so much more interesting than another game set in modern day America. Quote

Cousin Jim Bob Posted May 6, 2025 Posted May 6, 2025 GTA 6 will be built around the next GTA Online. It will be at least another decade before we see another one so that will be the focus. I thought the GTA 5 story was terrible tbh. So if this is even passable it's a start. Quote
The King Of Swing Posted May 7, 2025 Posted May 7, 2025 Shin Megami Tensei IV (3DS) I'd forgotten just how brutal this game can be. SMT Nocturne is regularly named by fans as the toughest game in the series, but I think SMT IV might have beaten. Frustrating certainly (especially navigating the main overworld map) but still a great game. Maybe even the best game in the mainline series. Quote

I fell off early on when I first played it but might go back now, is it worth dropping to the "Easy" difficulty when given the chance? Quote

I've never done it so don't really know how easy SMT IV's easy mode actually is. No point in pissing yourself off though, if the game is breaking your balls, so I say give it a try. Some advice. Buffs/debuffs (especially debuffs) are your best friend against bosses so have at least a couple of demons that have them. Even if they cast a removal spell, that's still one less turn they have to pummel your team. Which can make all the difference. My main tactic is slash and burn. Cast one or two debuffs and hit them as hard and fast as I can. I'm currently running a magic/agility build which has served me well so far. Quote

Yeah, it'll be something tacked on to appease the people that don't play GTA Online. Like they did with COD for a while. Didn't one of them have the single player campaign as DLC? Quote
The Gaffer Posted May 8, 2025 Posted May 8, 2025 You're old, it's the kids who are into it, etc but I can't think of a game that has been as much of a hidden phenomena to me as GTA Online. I've not been aware of a single person down through the years who has played it. I've never really come across secondary/supplementary bits and pieces of culture from it other than funny YouTube compilations, I guess. I never played World of Warcraft either, but I was always aware of when a big expansion pack was coming. This thing's been going for 10+ years and honestly I don't think I've seen much about it ever other than the icon in an online marketplace every now and then and the ongoing opinion piece that it basically just makes loadsa money and so might have R* and their publishers resting on their laurels. It's fucking mad to think that all these years later, people are still loading themselves into that exact same map in that exact same game engine to run over each other and buy new hats and shit when M83 and A$AP Rocky play on the car stereo. Quote
Paid Members Jazzy G Posted May 8, 2025 Paid Members Posted May 8, 2025 I hopped into it a few times, but it was mostly populated by kids and dickheads. I accidentally crashed into somebody's car while I was driving about and they got out of the car then blew me up with a rocket launcher, followed by knowing where my character was going to spawn and proceeding to spend the next 10 minutes killing me with a sniper rifle until I have up and left the server. The guy was level 200 something and I was level 3 I think? The extra story stuff always looked interesting, but unless I was in a server completely on my own it'd be practically unplayable because there'd always be some tosspot who'd decide to make your life a living hell for shits and giggles. If they see you're inside a building they'll park in the doorway so you can't leave the place. They'll wait at places they know are mission checkpoints to kill you because they find it funny, but because they've ploughed goodness knows how much money into the game there's nothing you can do about it. It's the worst of online gaming experiences. Quote
Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted May 8, 2025 Paid Members Posted May 8, 2025 I already gave up on Bing in Wonderland. It's just really repetitive. Roguelikes are shit. So I'm now playing Steamworld Dig, which I'm really enjoying. The game that Spelunky could have been if it hadn't been a roguelike and/or made by sadists. Quote

Steam world dig is more a Goonies 2 style "searching adventure" and has a really good story. Quote
TildeGuy~! Posted May 8, 2025 Author Posted May 8, 2025 Death Stranding 2 previews are looking amazing, looking forward to it! Next Friday Capcom Fighting Collection 2 is out! Capcom Vs SNK 2 online with rollback! Yes please. Quote
DavidB6937 Posted May 8, 2025 Posted May 8, 2025 More interested in this than GTA at the moment. Absolute sucker for anything Mafia related. Quote

Paid Members Jazzy G Posted May 8, 2025 Paid Members Posted May 8, 2025 The heist one is turn based. Certainly interesting. Steamworld Build is a city builder, but with some other mechanics thrown in, and there's an RPG one which seems a bit odd as well. The sequel builds on the original. Definitely worth a look. Quote
