WyattSheepMask
Just when you thought Peaky Blinders being turned into a musical was the maddest thing possible…
Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted October 18, 2022 Paid Members Share Posted October 18, 2022 It would save us a lot of time if we all agreed that all musicals fall under the title of this thread.
Moderators Chest Rockwell Posted October 18, 2022 Moderators Share Posted October 18, 2022 I mean, it does look terrible and it's definitely not aimed at me. But in terms of things that could translate well into a shitty musical I can see this working well conceptually.
SuperBacon
There was a bit on this weeks or last weeks Bob Mortimer and Paul Whitehouse Go Fishing where Bob was talking about a Bake Off musical (maybe that influenced it?) I'd definitely watch one written by those two.
Vamp
Oddly the worst music I've seen lately is the one that tried the hardest not to be a musical. The Cages is a fucking awful, painful experience. Edited October 18, 2022 by Vamp
lanky316
I vaguely remember them talking GBBO:TM up on BBC Breakfast before the fringe. Based on the clips they showed from it I'm not sure that shit can adequately describe just how bad it seemed.
Paid Members Hannibal Scorch Posted October 18, 2022 Paid Members Share Posted October 18, 2022 I’ve heard a lot of positive things from theatre socials when it had a run at Cheltenham. It’s success there has led to a West End staging and whilst it’s subject isn’t something I think I’d pay to see, I think it’s probably going to end up decent enough. Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted October 18, 2022 Paid Members Share Posted October 18, 2022 The only good musicals are The Wizard of Oz and The Muppets movies and they don't count because they're good.
Butch2000
And Grease 2 as Bobby Hill is in it.
Paid Members Surf Digby Posted October 19, 2022 Paid Members Share Posted October 19, 2022 I'm assuming that none of you have seen The Return of Captain Invincible, where we get to witness Christopher Lee (hamming it up marvellously as the villain and) seducing your subwoofer.
