Currently getting stuff together to apply for our eighteen-month-old son's UK passport. It's such an expensive pain in the arse. I'd forgotten what a chore it was after getting our daughter's a few years back.

Made worse by the fact they both got their Czech ones for about three quid and they arrived within a week.

I had to renew my passport, living in the US meant I had to send it to UK and they suggest having it signed for. So I spent an absurd amount of money to have UPS deliver it, arrived there in 2 days no probs. Now been two weeks without them even acknowledging that they have received it - sending me emails/messages telling me to send it still. Doesn't bode well.

Proof that the UKFF is powerful and being monitored...passport received and approved within DAYS of this post. Coincidence? I think not.

I wouldn't be surprised if this place was being monitored unless it was by anyone outside operation yewtree or The Bottom Inspectors from Viz.

They were probably just checking you weren't actually yon hockey player from the Bruins trying to pull a fast one. Damn Slovaks coming here and taking our new non-EU passports.

So we're getting a review of the use of imperial measurements, despite the fact traders have never been prevented from using them anyway. To test whether people are prepared for the return of just imperial measurements last night I asked to buy 0.035274 ounces of speed, and the guy just looked at me blankly. I was tempted to ask in drachmas instead of ounces, but I think that might have ended in violence.

Front page of the Sunday Mail today they are revelling in Boris Johnsons ability to bring back sticking a crown on the front of a pint glass.

Blue passports and all that.

Brexit won't be complete until Europe stops imposing bendy bananas on us. Or straight bananas. Or whatever bananas they were imposing on us.

British bananas for bananas British people

More important than bringing back the crown on a pint tumbler, although that is important, is getting shot of the CE lettering from them.

What proper bloke wants to enjoy a freshly poured ale in a glass that proclaims "Conformité Européenne"? Save that French nonsense for the birds glass of wine, not our ale.
