We can ignore that. European glory doesn't count if you can't even be called champions of your own country.

Spoken like a post wobble Mourinho.

Anyone see the two quotes of him belittling the great Rafa Benitez achievement of making Chelsea in to a force again and bringing them European glory back in the day and the one where he was bigging up his own most recent Mickey Mouse achievements?

Also, Scotland are embarrassingly shit.

Sky would have you believe the big teams are but yeah, not really, it’s just glorified friendlies. The big teams will all qualify via the normal qualifying process anyway, as they always do, so this Nations League is really just a way for the smaller teams to have a bit more of a chance to qualify, and the probably not in the end anyway.

I haven't watched any Nations League games as I'm away but are all the big teams taking it seriously or are these games just glorified friendlies or what?

Well, Wales defeated your adopted nation 4-1 on Thursday.

No, no. Spain is my adopted nation, England is where I was born and Ireland is where I'm going to gain citizenship simply for my own selfish benefit in order to remain an EU citizen. In fact, I very much doubt I will ever visit Ireland again in the rest of my life.

Also, neither of you answered my question.

It just feels like an Intertoto way to qualify for the Euros albeit not at the end of the season/campaign and featuring all the big teams. A back door route into the competition for teams who know they probably wont do it through normal qualifying.

I'm not sure if rankings are determined in this though which could make one or two teams take it seriously if it makes a difference with the seeding systems.

Where are you paying tax? That's the question always asked of me when I'm overseas.

Look's like Bolton's decent start to the season is going to be for fuck all. They are expected to be put into administration this morning over a multi-million pound loan Dean Holdsworth took out with what is essentially a payday loan company when he and Ken Anderson were buying the club. They are expecting at least a 12 point deduction and a 2 year transfer embargo...

I love the idea of someone phoning Wonga, or some such shite, and asking to borrow several million pounds: "Yes, with interest, that'll equate to repayments of £5 trillion, reduced to £3 trillion if you pay back within three months".
