deathrey Posted February 24 Posted February 24 I've never been to either, I need to explore some southern theme parks when the kids are a bit older. The only one I've been to is Legoland, I went last year for Mother's Day and my youngest (then 2 years old) loves theme park rides. I'm hoping he'll be my rollercoaster buddy when he's older. He's currently scared of farm yard animals so I might be expecting a bit much. Quote

I never went to Camalot but remember seeing it from a Motorway as we drove up to see Relatives in Blackburn. Was it good? Quote
deathrey Posted February 25 Posted February 25 I was barely in double figures at the time but I remember thinking it was good but not as good as Alton Towers, which to me was the pinnacle of theme park. I did like the fact it was a true theme park and really bought in to the whole legend of King Arthur thing wholeheartedly. All the staff were cosplaying their hearts out and I wish we had a bit more of that Quote

Would you have to travel far? I'm not a huge Lego fan but I did enjoy visiting, I'd say it's a little more aimed at kids than a lot of other theme parks. My kids were 2 and 4 when we went, the reason we chose it was because they could go on the majority of rides. If you can easily travel to it, I'd give it a go but might not be worth it if it's far Quote

Was it good? I went there a fair bit as a kid as one of my mates got a bunch of free tickets all the time. I would say mid. Couple of good rides. Interesting theme that they used well in the live jousting show and park design. Locally I thought Blackpool Pleasure Beach was far better, and further out Alton Towers a whole other level. Quote

I remember the cowboy show and the native american type Mount Rushmore faces which were actually quite un nerving as a kid. Quote

I'm assuming they were awful places. Did anyone on here ever go to one of them? I'm fascinated by lost UK relics like this. Quote

Not sure if the third opened but I believe the one opened up north was such a flop it didn’t see out their first season. I don’t remember a whole lot about it. You could walk around Mr Blobby’s house. I think there were a few minimally themed fairground flat rides. The big attraction was some kind of jungle adventure which was you being driven around the forest in a jeep. It was over 30 years ago, some of that may not be completely accurate, but remember it being really shit. Quote
