A definite sign of getting old but I just look at displays like that and think how much work would be involved in keeping them dust-free.  They'd be covered in a layer within a week in our (albeit very old) house.

My brain itches when they aren’t displayed in time order. Dusty shouldn’t be stood those close to Borga.

Mad how the passage of time changed in big time wrestling. Dusty from 1989-1991 shouldn’t be standing next to Borga from 1993-94. In modern Hasbro equivalence, nobody would notice if 2011 figures stood next to 2015 figures. “Oh no, Ziggler shouldn’t be stood next to Kofi. They weren’t wrestling each other every week in those exact outfits!”

This shelf ring idea is another storage solution that I really like.

I've updated it since then, still got to sort loads of it out though. Still about 50 odd boxes of retros to open and display.

Spent ages trying to work this one out:

Clearly an Alberto del Rio head but long tights with KP on them. Couldn't work out who it was supposed to be then clocked the seller's name. He appears to be flogging a custom of himself.

Just seen this old Hasbro ad…

Am I seeing things, or is it the lighting, or am I colourblind, or is the Jake figure in blue there?

Is this another prototype for Matt Cardona to chase down or is it just the ropey video quality playing tricks on me? I knew about the green trunks Macho Man and stuff like that but never heard anything about a different Jake.

That is interesting! Definitely different tights. There are a few examples of figures shown in original promotional material being different to those that eventually came out, but I'd not heard of that one before.

Yeah me neither. Still wish we got this version of Shawn as well, to be honest. Wonder where this figure ended up. It’s probably been sat in a box in someone’s attic collecting dust for 30 years.

I always found the poses on some of the figures questionable. Jimmy Snuka and Koko B Ware having their legs stuck together made sense for them to be high flyers and having an excellent dropkick action. Why does Kamala have that? The above Shawn Michaels would be perfect for a Sweet Chin Music. Instead we got the one we did.

Ric Flair and Rick Rude were the worst crimes. Perfect for a headlock, shit at everything else.

Presumably cos his finisher was a splash

Yeah I used to hate that my Undertaker had to do left handed chokeslams. But then again my obsession with wrestling has just been a contributing factor to me being recently diagnosed as autistic, so maybe that’s on me lol.
