Moderators Chest Rockwell Posted April 14, 2017 Moderators Share Posted April 14, 2017 (edited) Going to Portugal this summer, so I was doing some research on what to eat there. Apparently one of the specialities is a famous sandwich called the francesinha. It looks artery cloggingly delicious. Â Does your wife's family ever make stuff like this, Sergio? Moderators Chest Rockwell Posted April 14, 2017 Moderators Share Posted April 14, 2017 Cheese indeed:  Francesinha is a Portuguese sandwich originally from Porto, made with bread, wet-cured ham, linguiça, fresh sausage like chipolata, steak or roast meat and covered with melted cheese and a hot thick tomato and beer sauce served with french fries
Paid Members Sergio Mendacious Posted April 14, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted April 14, 2017 I've never had that — grandpa does make some cracking stews with about seven meats in them, but the most prominent portuguese thing they all seem to make is calde verde, which is great but has no place in this thread. Paid Members Lion_of_the_Midlands Posted April 14, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted April 14, 2017 Has the ghost of Oscar Wilde ascended back to repartee heaven having now been exorcised from The Clunt. Been a fat bastard myself that could be the only exorcise I get today.
Otto Dem Wanz
Ooh I had a Francesinha when I went to Porto about four years ago, beautifully artery clogging! More recently (this afternoon), I just had my first KFC in ages - big daddy box meal with two extra hot wings. I can't foresee the need to eat again until Summerslam.
