Moderators PowerButchi Posted October 23, 2016 Moderators Share Posted October 23, 2016 I finally bought Jerry Jarrett's book on the first year of TNA. There's a bit too much god talk at times, and it definitely could have done with proofreading, but it's otherwise a fantastic read.

NEWM
Big recommendation for Spandex Ballet from me, but I was going to watch virtually every IWF show between about 2007-2009 and Lee Kyle was always one of my favourites. His move to comedy is unsurprising actually, he was absolutely piss funny to watch even back then. I won't spoil them but some of the backyard names him and his mates had as kids were hilarious and had me laughing out loud. Agree with Lister too, there's a positive level of detachment from wrestling that makes his analysis more interesting than a lot of usual craic. C-Rock
Not sure if it has already been mentioned but Pete Gas of Mean Street Posse fame is releasing a book. You can pre order it on Amazon, it will be released 7th March 2017. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/1613219873/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1478175164&sr=8-5π=AC_SX280_SY350_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=wrestling+autobiographies
Ian 86
For £20!? Nah, you're alright thanks
Moderators PowerButchi Posted November 4, 2016 Moderators Share Posted November 4, 2016 In other news, I'm selling a bridge. Fuck me, £20 to read the tales of Pete Gas?!!
DraxSpago
Main thing I remember about Pete Gas is him bleeding an absolute gusher at Mania 2000 and only being on camera for about 4 seconds
King Pitcos
Pete Gas would have a good few Vince stories, you'd think. Given his relationship with Shane, I'd expect his experience in the WWF was different to that of the guys who were beating him on Heat. Sphinx
Has anyone read Pat Patterson's book? And is it any good?
C-Rock
Yeah I have and I recommend it but I did have some issues such as Pat seems to gloss over alot of periods in his life the main one being his time in WWE. He still offers the reader some interesting stories but doesnt divulge much in the way of anything like who he really liked and dislked or his issues with certain people or the company itself. Its almost like Pat didnt want to piss anybody in WWE because of his close connection to the company to this day. He speaks openly and honestly about his sexuality which is inspring and the most enjoyable part of the book. If your looking for interesting tales from a man who spanned many generations in pro wrestling then this books is perfect for you but if your looking for bitching and name bashing then perhaps not. I second this account, very good book. Really interesting but there is no shitting stirring what so ever.
Paid Members tiger_rick Posted November 22, 2016 Paid Members Share Posted November 22, 2016 Bought Titan Sinking in paperback but I'm really struggling to enjoy it. The constant explaining of wrestling terms and real names along with side tracks into tales everyone already knows makes it a right slog. Who is aimed at? It's one of those things that no-one who doesn't know this stuff is buying. Very unnecessary.
AnotherCrapUsername
I purchased that on Kindle a few years ago. Absolute chore to get through. In fact I think it's still only about 25% read. Horrible book.
stevieg1980
Is Lion's Pride worth a dabble at £3.51 on Kindle? Cheers.
