Awards Moderator HarmonicGenerator Posted November 11, 2015 Awards Moderator Share Posted November 11, 2015 Anyone been watching the new Muppets series? It's nothing especially striking or original but it's a nice easy watch and every episode so far's been a fun escapist 20 minutes.

Undefeated Steak
Peep Show was great last night. Better than any episode in the last series. Back to its previous high standards!
DraxSpago
Not sure where to post this but it's fantastic. Think there'll be posters on this forum who appreciate it. Paid Members SpursRiot2012 Posted November 14, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted November 14, 2015 Master of None is great. It's really got the Millenial references down to a tee. Perfect 2015 show.
Paid Members Bellenda Carlisle Posted November 14, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted November 14, 2015 (edited) Â I watched all of Master of None yesterday, Aziz Ansari's new sitcom on Netflix.I want to believe you that's it's funny but I just can't. I don't think you would like it. Â Wow you're good, I couldn't even make it through the first episode. Â Â Did you (or anyone else) see the Anthony Jeselnik special? He's one of the only stand up comedians I like. The only thing that's not great is the fact that he makes such a big deal about how offensive his jokes are (I hate it when shock comics do that) otherwise he's pretty sharp. King Pitcos
I haven't watched the second episode of Master of None yet. I found the first one a bit weird, like "Oh, Aziz Ansari's doing a rip-off of Louie." I don't much like Louie, either. And yet I like the two guys, both acting and doing stand-up. A comedy series done in the style of a lo-fi indie feature film is too much of a disconnect for me or something.
Paid Members SpursRiot2012 Posted November 15, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted November 15, 2015 The first episode was actually a bit meh. It's a grower.

I don't know him, I'll check it out though.. I give most of the stand up shows on Netflix a go. I turn most of them off after ten minutes. Â I hate it when comedians tell me what I think about them and then base their jokes off that. Don't fucking trek me if I think your effeminate and it's hilarious or tell me I'm shocked by your edgy jokes. You do your routine and I'll decide that for myself. It shows weak fucking character to define yourself by what other people think of you...

Moderators Chest Rockwell Posted November 16, 2015 Moderators Share Posted November 16, 2015 I watched the jeselnik show. It was alright... Pretty patchy tbh, but I had it on in the background whilst playing a boardgame so it was fine for that. Don't think I would have made it through the whole thing otherwise. Â Also he speaks in a really weird cadence.
Paid Members chokeout Posted November 19, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted November 19, 2015 (edited) Peep show is just ace. It even managed to have Dobby in it and not make me want to punch the screen. Also, THE TWINS. I love the random call backs to one off jokes. Paid Members WWFChilli Posted November 19, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted November 19, 2015 (edited) Always found the dislike of Dobby odd (Butchi used to go nuclear on her). Far more enjoyable than Nancy or Big Suze (who were both canny decent). The cupboard sexual harrasment scene from S5 is still on of my fave scenes for the sheer cringe. Is it down to the character or the actress. Isy Suttie is actually a pretty good comedienne. Â Peep Show are great for one off pay offs. Clean Shirt turning up again was superb. Paid Members PunkStep Posted November 19, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted November 19, 2015 Super Hans' nonchalant reaction to Jez having sex with a bloke killed me. Â Nancy and Big Suz weren't great thinking about it, in anything than small doses anyway. Toni was better.
Paid Members WWFChilli Posted November 19, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted November 19, 2015 Toni was fucking ace. Seemed a genuine nutter, brilliant character. Â 'I hope she brings out the bong and not the fucking cafetiere'.
