Paid Members Bellenda Carlisle Posted December 5, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted December 5, 2015 (edited) I've hated the Simpsons for years, in its prime it was one of the best things that's ever been on TV with an insane amount of classic moments and gags. I've seen all those episodes dozens of times and the movie or anything made after is unwatchable. I'll give that episode a go though, if it doesn't do it for me I'd probably gladly never watch it again. Mr_Danger
What actually happened to The Simpsons for such a noticeable decline in qualit? Not to say it's as shit as most make out but for what it was it's a massive difference.
gbacon85
Being consistently on air for 25 years, cramming in celebrity cameos and guest written episodes, too many writers and writers coming and going, and I think the fact that people rarely watch a show for 25 years without getting bored and people then look around for something new and fresher. WyattSheepMask
25 years on the air with 26 episodes per year/series, there's bound to some barrel scraping going on Edited December 5, 2015 by WyattSheepMask
Paid Members WWFChilli Posted December 5, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted December 5, 2015 (edited) Writers growing up on the Simpsons and not other previous influences... The show completely losing that emotional connection to the characters it had. Basically the show dumbed down and does one of worst of all comedy crimes, going meta; and the lack of John Swartzwelder. Moderators Chest Rockwell Posted December 8, 2015 Moderators Share Posted December 8, 2015 Finished the second season of house of cards now and starting the third. Overall still enjoying it, although there's the occasional dull bits. Â I couldn't give two shits about Doug Stamper and they waste a lot of time on him. The hacker guy is a really lame character too.

Paid Members Murtz Posted December 8, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted December 8, 2015 Catastrophe on Channel 4. Just hilarious, the main two characters have great chemistry. Probably the funniest TV show I've seen in a long time.
Moderators Chest Rockwell Posted December 10, 2015 Moderators Share Posted December 10, 2015 You're going to hate season three. Three episodes in so far. It's impressive how much the quality has dipped, seems really shitty so far.

I'm caning through this rubbish in the background whilst I play hard west on the laptop. Â I see he's been given a fourth season though... Undefeated Steak
Peep Show. Dropped in quality the last couple of episodes. The first three this series were brilliant. Â Â The only way I see it ending is Mark moving in with Sophie and Jez signing with a record label. I hope they don't try and cram too much into the last episode.
