Paid Members Scott Malbranque Posted November 30, 2016 Paid Members Share Posted November 30, 2016 Dave Allen. What a man! In my opinion, no Dave Allen, no Brass Eye.
Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted November 30, 2016 Paid Members Share Posted November 30, 2016 First thing I ever saw by him when I was a kid was the bit he did about The Sandman, which simultaneously scared the shit out of me and made me piss myself laughing. The Clint
Another couple of shows to look out for hidden in the Xmas schedules  Charlie Brooker's 2016 Wipe Thursday 29th Dec  Inside No 9 Tuesday 27th Dec Although this episode has a Christmas theme it's not a Xmas special as such, it's actually the first episode of the new series that will continue through January. Paid Members Gus Mears Posted November 30, 2016 Paid Members Share Posted November 30, 2016 I think I speak for the entire nation when I ask, when is the repeat of Chas and Dave's Xmas Knees Up on?
Mr.E
my only "must see" things around Christmas time are: Â Any of the Morcambe and Wise Christmas specials Scrooged, with Bill Murray If I don't see these 2 things, it's just not Christmas for me
dopper
The thing that winds me up is classic films such as 'Scrooged' and 'Christmas Vacation' being shown in the middle of the afternoon with a load of edits. They are beloved favourites for a reason, so I'm sure the ratings would be decent if they were put on at 9pm or 10pm unedited at some point in December instead. Â Anyone know when the Xmas issues of the TV listing magazines come out?
Moderators PowerButchi Posted November 30, 2016 Moderators Share Posted November 30, 2016 I think I speak for the entire nation when I ask, when is the repeat of Chas and Dave's Xmas Knees Up on? Â Yeah, that was a pure highlight the past couple of years. With Channel 5 being Channel 5 they shown it twice last year. Christmas night and New Years Eve. I demand the very same again this year. Guest
Charlie Brooker's 2016 Wipe Thursday 29th Dec Assume this'll go no more than 20 minutes. What could he possibly find to talk about from this year?
Paid Members Gus Mears Posted November 30, 2016 Paid Members Share Posted November 30, 2016  Yeah, that was a pure highlight the past couple of years. With Channel 5 being Channel 5 they shown it twice last year. Christmas night and New Years Eve. I demand the very same again this year.   Echo that, although I was mildly disappointed that they edited out, what must have been, an incredibly racist/sexist/gay-bashing comedy routine from Jim Davidson. That's the kind of merriment the whole family can get behind during the festive period.
The Clint
  Anyone know when the Xmas issues of the TV listing magazines come out?  The double Radio Times and TV Times will be available everywhere from Monday.  What's On etc could be available from Saturday. Moderators Astro Hollywood Posted November 30, 2016 Moderators Share Posted November 30, 2016 It's been ruined for me since it came off the BBC. 40 minutes minus the ads. Might as well just read the results.
