Paid Members LaGoosh Posted April 26, 2019 Paid Members Share Posted April 26, 2019 I enjoyed The Hateful Eight. His new film looks like all his worst tendencies in one though. I'll probably still see it, mind.

Paid Members chokeout Posted April 26, 2019 Paid Members Share Posted April 26, 2019 I liked Hateful eight. It was pure self indulgence from him and he really needs to have someone work with him to cut his stuff down, but it had a few really good performances in it and a hell of a cast. Would have worked far better with 40 minutes cut out of it. I wonder if the new edit plays with the running structure a little bit.
Merzbow
I watched it for the first time recently and thought the pace was perfectly fine, I put it off for so long thinking it would be overlong and dull but it flew by. If only Netflix could so this with Love Exposure and give us the full 6 hour cut in episodes.
Awards Moderator Frankie Crisp Posted April 26, 2019 Awards Moderator Share Posted April 26, 2019 Anyone in or near Liverpool, the Picturehouse in town is doing a mini-Nicolas Cage season, including Raising Arizona, The Rock, Face/Off and Con Air. SuperBacon
I have no idea what film thread to put this in, but I’ve just come across this with no context (from Pete Donaldson’s Twitter), and well...I don’t really know what to say. Does anyone know about this Robocop Remake? This has done me in. NSFW

Merzbow
There's yet another Hellraiser film being made but this time it's a big budget flick with David S. Goyer behind it. I'm no fan of the films he's written or directed but I'm happy there's an actual name behind it for a change.
Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted May 6, 2019 Paid Members Share Posted May 6, 2019 Yeah, his filmography is a long list of stuff I'd pay not to see.
SuperBacon
@Devon Malcolm any idea where I can watch a German film called The Captain (Der Hauptmann)? I’ve found a copy online but it has no English subtitles. Thought you might know somewhere.
Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted May 7, 2019 Paid Members Share Posted May 7, 2019 I think it might have been shown on Mubi at some point so there's a chance it may come round for another screening at some point. Otherwise I always check http://www.movies2watchonline.com/ for subtitled films as that seems to be the best place for them. If it's not on there or https://www.uwatchfree.sx then I'm not sure where else it would be.
SuperBacon
Cheers, I’ve wanted to see it for a while but can only ever find non-subtitled versions of it and my GCSE level German (E mark!) isn’t strong enough to carry me through
