Only just started looking for a 4K BluRay player last night so still need to research that a bit more. Does the BluRay player need HDR too, or is that just relevant to the TV. thanks for taking the time to answer by the way Yeah you need both. LG are really leading the way with HDR so it's probably a good choice. There's a good comparison website I use called rtings.com, they don't have every TV ever but they do get a lot of the current ones in and reviewed, so might be worth checking there. What's the model, out of interest?
WyattSheepMask
My HD telly is an LG, which is as good as the day I bought it which is getting on for 8 years now. I'm not getting rid of that one, it's just going into a different room. The model I've been looking at is the LG 43UH603V (https://www.richersounds.com/tv-projectors/tv-projectors-label/4k-ultra-hd-tvs.html) and the BluRay player is the LG UP970 (https://www.richersounds.com/tv-home-cinema/blu-ray-dvd/lg-uhd-blu-ray-player.html) I'll give that rtings.com a look to see if I can find anything (thanks for the recommendation by the way)
hallicks
Just FYI, the "colour accurate" 4K HDR that my current company are going for is the LG B6, but it's pretty pricey... https://www.amazon.co.uk/LG-OLED55B6V-Ultra-Smart-webOS/dp/B01EBXEPVG/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1504729718&sr=1-1&keywords=LG+B6+OLED We've had about 5 or 6 through the door here and they've all been pretty damn good. They've been in the suite with our lead colourist and he's happy with them compared to our much more expensive reference monitor. If you don't have two grand to drop, they've got a handy guide that has cheaper alternatives as well: http://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/best/by-features/hdr

A 28w halogen bulb. The lamp states max 40w. So I assumed this was fine. Well, about 20 mins ago the bulb and lamp exploded, sending tiny bits of glass all over the room and just missing my girlfriends face. So, now I'm worried about the same bulb in the other lamp. Bought and replaced at the same time. Just to be clear, it SHOULD be OK to put a 28w bulb in a max 40w lamp and not have it explode right? Lower should be fine, just dimmer than is possible from the socket. It's higher that's the safety risk as it could overheat. https://www.quora.com/What-happens-if-a-light-bulb-in-the-socket-is-of-a-lower-wattage-or-higher-wattage-than-the-one-the-socket-specifies-for
Paid Members Weezenal Posted September 7, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted September 7, 2017 I got a 43" Samsung for £550 which has HDR too. The ease and slickness of the smart functionality which includes Netflix, Amazon and Now TV ( I got a year of free with my £19 a month vodafone) has made us cancel Sky. Netflix has most of their own stuff in 4K/HDR if you upgrade the package and has just started to include some films in 4K (GhostBusters II). Amazon seem to be adding a new 4K show every other week now with The Tick the latest.

MungoChutney
Does anyone know of a website or software for designing infographics that's entirely free to use? Doesn't matter if the end graphic has some kind of reference to the site or software.

You can also do it in PowerPoint if your skills are sharp enough. Â

I got really in to it years ago, back when it first started on channel 5 but had a soft spot for it prior to that. Ive been really out of the loop for a few years and looking to get back in to it. Â I've been similar to you I still check the scores and have the Florida Panthers alerts etc on my phone giving me the results so I have an understanding of the standing of things but since it left Channel 5 I do miss being able to watch some games (I couldn't justify paying for Premier Sports on top of what I already pay for various subscription services) The good news is I saw the other day that the new Free Sports channel that has launched will supposedly be showing 3 live NHL games a week so this season is certainly a good time to try and get back into the sport.
